Indeed, while many experienced players are still in the squad, it has become clear that Inter need to gradually insert more talents to protect themselves for the future. Many would still argue that they were caught unprepared by Inzaghi’s exit, but at least the replacement makes perfect sense.
He coached Esposito and Carboni in the Primavera, Bonny enjoyed great success with him at Parma and the electric start of Sucic is showing that something has been done right so far. In short, Inter have changed course amid the exit of Inzaghi (as was a must).
Milan ditch age cap
Milan, on the other hand, have gone from focusing heavily on their academy (and young players) to making very targeted signings. Not to suggest that Milan’s problem was necessarily the young age of their squad, as it was more so a case of poor management and corporate weakness.
Allegri and Tare
That being said, the situation needs to be turned around and that would be very difficult without any experience. As such, in addition to relying on their young core – which the signing of Samuele Ricci has strengthened – some experienced players will also be signed.
You could perhaps say that the previous age cap has been removed by the Milan ownership, even if the attention to the accounts remains (hence the sale of Tijjani Reijnders). With Luka Modric and perhaps Granit Xhaka as well, the situation will already be much better.
