Court proceedings in the trial of murder suspect Christopher Okello Onyum were dramatically interrupted today afternoon after a heavy downpour, accompanied by strong winds, tore through the makeshift court setup at Ggaba Community Church grounds in Kampala.

The sudden storm blew off a tent that had been sheltering the judge, the suspect, and prosecutors, forcing everyone at the venue to scamper for safety as rainwater flooded the area.
Pictures from the scene show chairs overturned, court equipment exposed to rain, and security personnel rushing to secure the premises while attendees sought cover.

This is not the first time such incidents are happening, Just last week, a vehicle transporting Onyum lost control and rammed into journalists and bystanders outside court, injuring one journalist in the process and causing panic at the scene.

Christopher Okello Onyum is the prime suspect in the high-profile murder of four toddlers at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre in Kampala. The case has gripped the nation and is currently being heard in an unusual High Court mobile session at Ggaba Community Church grounds, allowing residents and the wider public to closely follow the proceedings.
