Ugandan authorities have arrested a suspected international fugitive identified as Keith Mugisha, commonly known as “King Keith,” following an intelligence-led operation supported by global law enforcement networks.
According to officials, the arrest was prompted by coordinated intelligence, including multiple tip-offs from members of the public who reported suspicious behavior and, in some cases, alleged they had been victims of his activities.

Speaking on the development, Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson Simon Peter Mundeyi said the operation relied heavily on information shared by the public alongside security intelligence. He noted that authorities acted on these reports to apprehend the suspect.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Mugisha may be linked to transnational criminal networks, with particular focus on alleged drug trafficking activities. Information shared through Interpol revealed that he had previously been arrested in Brazil over suspected drug-related offenses.
Authorities further stated that Mugisha reportedly possessed a Ugandan passport while in Brazil and is believed to have escaped after obtaining Brazilian documentation. He has since been listed among wanted suspects connected to drug trafficking operations in that country.
Mundeyi added that after Ugandan authorities flagged Interpol following his arrest, they were informed that Mugisha was already on a wanted list. He also revealed that a suspected Nigerian associate linked to the same case remains in custody in Brazil.
