19 Kole civil servants arrested over alleged cattle restocking fund diversion

Security authorities in Kole District have arrested 19 civil servants over allegations that they inserted their names and those of relatives on beneficiary lists to divert government cattle restocking funds under the Dok Alango programme.

The suspects are accused of manipulating the beneficiary lists to access Shs5.5 million each meant for cattle restocking.

Kole Resident District Commissioner Gillian Akullu and LC5 Chairperson Eng. Moses Oteng confirmed the arrests following a security meeting during which all 19 suspects reportedly confessed to the scheme.

The suspects are being held at Kole Central Police Station as investigations continue.

Authorities are also investigating whether other senior district officials could have been involved in the alleged diversion.

The arrests come amid increased scrutiny of the management and distribution of government-funded livelihood programmes, particularly the selection of beneficiaries and disbursement of public funds.
