Sam Kahamba Kutesa (born 1 February 1949) is a Ugandan politician, businessman, and lawyer By the marriage of his daughter Charlotte Kutesa Muhoozi with Muhoozi he became part of the inner circle of president Museveni.
Kutesa was the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda, a position he held from 13 January 2005 and maintained through three cabinet reshuffles until May 2021.
He was also the elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Mawogola County in Sembabule District. He was the President of the United Nations General Assembly during its 69th session in 2014–2015.
Claim:
A TikTok video Circulating on different social media platforms claims that Sam Kutesa has died and that he is being buried in secret to avoid people laughing at them, and presents the body arriving at Entebbe International Airport as his.
Findings:
We reviewed the video attached to the claim. We found out that the video does not show Sam Kutesa. It shows the body of the late Cedric Babus arriving at Entebbe International Airport who succumbed to heart failure on May 31,2025 from Nairobi Kenya.
Our review found no credible evidence supporting claims that Sam Kutesa is deceased. there are no official reports from reputable media organizations, no statement from family members, and no communication from authorized representatives confirming the claim.
Verdict: False
The claim that Sam Kutesa is dead is false, as there is no evidence to support it. The video circulating on TikTok does not show his body. It shows the late Cedric Babus arriving at Entebbe International Airport.
