A post circulating on TikTok from an account operating under the handle “MED BARBER” claims that opposition leader Kizza Besigye has died.

The post contains a screenshot showing Besigye being placed into an ambulance after he collapsed during a court proceeding, alongside several pictures of him with the words: “RIP We shall remember you as our best freedom fighter.”

There has been no official communication from his family, legal team, prison authorities, or any recognised institution confirming his death.

CLAIM​

A TikTok post by an account under the handle “MED BARBER” claims that Dr. Kizza Besigye has passed away.

The post uses images of Besigye, including a screenshot showing him being taken into an ambulance, and adds a message suggesting that he has died and that people should mourn him.

Dr. Kizza Besigye did collapse during his recent court proceeding after he protested the continuation of his trial without the presence of his legal counsel.

Following the incident, he was taken away in an ambulance for medical attention to Mulago Hospital where he is currently admitted in the ICU.
