Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) is a result of the transformation of the Mbeya Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) through the Universities Act No.7 (2005) and the Mbeya University of Science and Technology Charter of 2013.

1.1. Tutorial Assistant (Quantity Surveying) - 1 post
1.1.1. Duties and responsibilities
(i) Understudy senior members, including attending lectures and
seminars, tutorials and practical training;
(ii) To conduct tutorials, seminars and practical sessions;
(iii) To assist in research, consultancy and outreach activities; and
(iv) To perform any other duties that the relevant authorities may assign.

Holder of a Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics,
Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics
with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 from a recognised Institution.

1.2. Tutorial Assistant (Interior Design) - 2 posts
1.2.1. Duties and responsibilities
(i) Understudy senior members, including attending lectures and
seminars, tutorials and practical training;

(GIS), Disaster Risk and Management, Transport Planning, Urban Design,

Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing, Land Use
Planning and Management, with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 from
recognised Institution.

(i) Understudy senior members, including attending lectures and
seminars, tutorials and practical training;

(iv) To perform any other duties that the relevant authorities may assign.

Holder of a Bachelor of Technology in Architecture, with a minimum GPA of
3.8 out of 5 from a recognised Institution.

1.6. Assistant Lecturer (Architecture) - 1 post
1.6.1. Duties and responsibilities
(i) To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for
undergraduate programs;
(ii) To prepare and present case studies;
(iii) To conduct and publish/disseminate research results;
(iv) To recognize students having difficulties, intervene and provide help
and support;
(v) To participate in consultancies and community services under
supervision;
(vi) To attend workshops, conferences and symposia; and
(vii) To perform any other duties that the relevant authorities may assign.
1.6.2. Qualifications
Holder of Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees of Architecture with at least a
GPA of 4.0 out of 5 in the Master’s degree and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out
of 5 and Bachelor’s degree. In addition, an unclassified Master’s degree by
thesis/research only shall be considered if the applicant has a pass grade
and has published at least two (2) papers in reputable peer-reviewed
journals in the relevant field.

1.7. Assistant Lecturer (Quantity Survey) - 1 post
1.7.1. Duties and responsibilities
(i) To undergo an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had
none before;
(ii) To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical
sessions for undergraduate programs;
(iii) To prepare and present case studies;
(iv) To conduct and publish/disseminate research results;

(v) To recognize students having difficulties, intervene and provide help
and support;
(vi) To participate in consultancies and community services under
supervision;
(vii) To attend workshops, conferences and symposia; and
(viii) To perform any other duties that the relevant authorities may assign.
1.7.2. Qualifications
Holder of Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Science in Construction,
Economics and Management or Quantity Survey, with at least a GPA of 4.0
out of 5 in masters and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 in the bachelor
degree. In addition, Unclassified Master’s degree by thesis/research only
shall be considered if the applicant has a pass grade and published at least
two (2) papers in reputable peer reviewed journals in a relevant field.
