JOB VACANCY: INSTRUCTOR II (CIVIL ENGINEER) – 1 POST
On behalf of the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC), the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) invites high-calibre, results-oriented, self-driven, trustworthy, dynamic, and suitably qualified Tanzanians to apply for twenty-four (24) vacant posts as detailed below.1.0 INSTRUCTOR II (CIVIL ENGINEER) – 1 POST
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:i. Conducting short courses and seminars in the respective areas of specialization, including instructional methods (pedagogical) courses;
ii. Preparing course and lesson plans for subjects within the respective area of specialization;
iii. Supervising students during practical training;
iv. Following up and submitting post-training evaluations of trainees;
v. Planning and organizing traffic programmes;
vi. Conducting courses and seminars for senior staff of the Corporation;
vii. Collecting and analysing information and data related to the respective field of specialization;
viii. Auditing training objectives and course content, and recommending to the Principal the training equipment and materials required;
ix. Evaluating the effectiveness of instructors under his/her supervision and preparing appropriate reports for the Principal;
x. Conducting research and other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree (NTA Level 8 or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field from a recognized institution, with a minimum GPA of 3.5.The applicant must also be eligible for registration as a Technical Teacher and registered by the respective Board as a Graduate Engineer/Professional.

TRCS 62.0 INSTRUCTOR II (MECHANICAL ENGINEER) – 1 POST
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:i. Conducting short courses and seminars in the respective areas of specialization, including instructional methods (pedagogical) courses;
ii. Preparing course and lesson plans for subjects within the respective areas of specialization;
iii. Supervising students during practical training;
iv. Following up and submitting post-training evaluations of trainees;
v. Planning and organizing traffic programmes;
vi. Conducting courses and seminars for senior staff of the Corporation;
vii. Collecting and analysing information and data related to the respective fields of specialization;
viii. Auditing training objectives and course content, and recommending to the Principal the training equipment and materials required;
ix. Evaluating the effectiveness of instructors under his/her supervision and preparing appropriate reports for the Principal. Conducting research on instructional needs within and outside TRC, and conducting consultations and research on training matters in liaison with district and headquarters officers;
x. Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
