Turkana, now Garissa. This is good news
Keep it up! This is what does sustainable development actually mean.Indeed. Lamu is next with a 40mw plant and 900-1000mw coal fired power plant too.

Actually they have not disappointed with regards to energy. These East African countries are rushing to have an electric rail yet their people are not connected to the grid and have to stay in the dark.one thing i am wondering though...with all this Megawatts being added to the grid, couldnt we think of electric trains? yaani tanzania hata hawana stima ila wanajenga electric traction....i love Kenya very much but....Uhuruto have done alot of good for this country but sometimes they are very disappointing...

In Kenya, Uhuru decided to first focus on connecting people to the grid, then we can connect our railway. That's the wisest strategy if you ask me.
Apart from the prestige of having an "electrified" railway, there's no warranted hurry to have one....after all, what is it that the electric railway can do that our diesel trains cant??
