At a news conference in Tanzania, Reuters reported Barrick chairman John Thornton said the deal would need to be approved by independent shareholders and directors of Acacia Mining.
That's merely procedural stuff...the majority shareholder has acceded to the terms. Mtajinyonga bavicha

Mzee Mwanakijiji, you have said it all. The problem is that our people in the opposition believe that opposition means obstruction. Hence in this country we do not have opposition political parties but instead we have obstruction political parties whose daily duties are to obstruct every thing the government in power wants to do and especially if that thing is good for the nation. To them democracy is obstruction of the government to perform. No wonder the government has to use force to over root these obstruction elements every time it wants to do anything and these people when over rooted will cry that they have been denied democracy!! To them inciting the people to hate the government in power, they believe is their daily work. This had led to catastrophies on many occassions.
Can you pove? The problem with my country is that those who think they are intelligent are the foolish one and those who are less intelligent are the bright ones!!! now the less bright are afraid of giving their views but those who think they are intelligent are full of confidence.

Obstruction? In a country where the President wields absolute and unlimited power? I am starting to believe that some of you guys have no idea what obstruction is or entails. How do you obstruct a human tsunami with bare hands? How can one obstruct a ruthless and revengeful tyrant that can order three dozen bullets to be pumped into the defenceless body of a mere political opponent? How can one obstruct a tinga tinga on the war path to destruction with but a mortal body?

If you have a dream to stop TINGATINGA please rethink and try not to sleep for your dream will never happen!

People are making mistakes of underestimating JPM to their own peril and detriment. While critical opinions and stand can justifiably be leveled against his tactics and the motives behind them to some these op-eds and pseudo-analysis can be construed as failed and veiled attempts on obstructionism. Are they?
While JPM modus operande is profound and unique in a way since he took the helm of this great nation, you cannot therefore expect everybody to AGREE with him!!!
.
There are those who are hell bent on trying to derail, discredit, and rebuff every effort JPM makes. Which in essence does not amaze and is expected.

Whereas many Tanzanians are seeing the positive changes being done by his goverment, the former are contrary to such opinion.
Calling his efforts as veiled attempts bla! bla!.
However the end JUSTIFIES the means.

Sooner than later most people will realise that the guy is not joking but serious and has embarked on unstoppable journey to the betterment of this nation!!

You must be one of the obstructionists Mzee Mwanakijiji is talking about. Be sure that you will be flown by the wind. Nowhere in this world governments have mercy on obstructionists. Not even in the USA!

There is this mystery that i can't express, how can you give your more to receive less?

Why should you confidently say that you gonna shoot at the star only to shoot on top of the tree and then congratulate yourself massively?
Drunken master comments!!

He is trying to describe himself in third person, very funny old man Mzee Mwanakijiji!

Mzee wa pro longed waffle, at least he is making progress by trying to make his point in less than 10 lines, on which we are all struggling to see exactly what he is talking about, but rather see himself in those words.
What do you expect from guys who , take your decision to obey their stupid orders instead of allowing them to, thrown shit on your GUCCI suit,on your way to the very important occasion as though you are weak and they are strong. The issue is biased people and narrow minded people misread smart people verytime."A money for a good faith is a trap for the broke partners". Km sio kuondoka kabisa kipindi hicho.

Let's stop this nonsense of blaming the opposition for everything. To the best of my recollections, the so called " opposition" has never been in power! Therefore, they are not the ones to blame as far as Mikataba mibovu are of concern. Make no mistake, this quagmire was created and engineered by President Mkapa and President Kikwete who also happen to be the members of the elite CCM's think tank. These people knew exactly what they were getting the country into and sadly didn't care. For years members of the opposition, have complained about these contracts to no avail. Imagine, if they would have listened in the late 90s and implemented measures to defend and protect our interest then; where would we be as a country?

I believe that something is better than NOTHING.
What did you expect from the outcome of the talks sir?

Did you expect sir that the government comes out of that talk EMPTY HANDED?
Or giving Barrick Co. UNREALISTC demands at the expense of our ECONOMY?
I think we should think beyond the box.

Normally in such kind of talks you always have to be OPEN minded and FLEXIBLE!
A tough stance would have worked against us and that is a FACTyou can take it to the Bank.
After all we need each other and we have LOST NOTHING.

It was therefore a WIN WIN situation.
Of which I give it a thumb up.

The word ‘underestimating’ belittles what actually people with functioning brains think about Magufuli! He is so damn CLUELESS in many ways! Whoever underestimates Magufuli needs a psychiatric diagnosis! Underestimating Magufuli is an overstatement on its own!

Obstruction, really? How and when can criticisms cause obstruction? I wish more Tanzanians should be critical of the government. So far, we are very few! We should be at least 20-30% of the population!

Please tell that clueless of a person, he shouldn’t find excuses for being execrable at what poor and uninformed Tanzanians thought he should be doing!

Truly indeed! That power is very powerful! Magufuli is an illustrative case of that: a sadist with such powers at his disposal! What a dangerous mixture!
How sadist is Magufuli?
I suppose he is not but a perception!
