The family of former Matungu constituency Member of Parliament David Were is suspecting foul play in the death of their kin, who was reportedly robbed and killed in the wee hours of Sunday in Kisumu.
Hannington Were, 39, died from severe bleeding, according to a postmortem report from the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) on Tuesday.
According to the report, he sustained three stab wounds to his back that pierced his lungs and other important organs.
Reports indicate that Hannington and his companion were ambushed by two armed guys riding a motorbike shortly after he left his home at approximately midnight.
After being taken to the hospital, Hannington passed away from his stab wounds.
