The stories going around claim that Mr Arfi would then be free to contest for Mpanda Urban Constituency as a CCM candidate.
Mr Arfi who doubles as Chadema national Chairperson strongly denied the stories while addressing a public rally held at Old Town Street here in Mpanda town on Wednesday maintaining that he has no such plans.
"Let me assure you that I have no intentions whatsoever of deserting Chadema and switching over to CCM, I will continue to be member of Chadema" he added. He
urged Chadema party members to ignore the rumours.
While expounding Mr Arfi declared that for the third time consecutively he will run for Mpanda Urban Constituency during the 2015 general elections on the Chadema ticket.
Stories that Arfi was planning to switch over to CCM emanated on November 25, when Prime MinisterMizengo Pinda addressed the public during the launch of the newly established Katavi region at Kashaulili grounds where he jokingly told the crowd that he (Mr Pinda) had a tete a' tete with Mr Arfi who had agreed to desert Chadema and join CCM in time for the 2015 elections. Mr Arfi described the remarks as joke.
Addressing the public rally Mr Arfi urged political leaders to shun the habit of insulting each other at public rallies instead they should respect each other and propagate their political ideologies to followers.
