Android siyo linux?I think firefox OS is mainly targeting Nokia's Asha lineup market, and maybe low-end android devices but it is not meant to go full steam against Android
In the case of Ubuntu touch, nadhani inakuja kucompete directly with the big boys iOS, Android, WP8, and BB OS... it will be lucky kama itaweza kugombania third spot against WP8 na BB 10 but things don't look good for them ingawa the convergence idea is pretty slick. Linux kwenye desktop hasn't kicked off and on Mobile iliishia in the hands of enthusiasts tu, remember Maemo, Meego, Moblin, Open Moko.. etc, and Now Ubuntu Touch na Jolla.
As much as I would like to see these OS come and offer other choices, it will be hard for them. But no harm done, they are all Open Source and they will push development of other platforms even if they are doomed to fail.

Ubuntu wakiweza kuja na Ubuntu Edge, watachukua karibia soko lote la wavivu (nani sio mvivu? Tembea kwa miguu basi 🙂) Maana Itakuwa ni simu na PC at the same time. Kama vipi weka order yako mapema!

i GET IT.Android is Linux(because it uses the Linux kernel), but my point was how it compares to traditional Linux OSes a.k.a GNU/Linux, na ndio maana nilivyozungumzia Ubuntu touch nikatumia mfano wa desktop Linux na the likes of Maemo 5 sababu they share same kernel, GNU libraries na GNU utilities and in other cases even display servers like X11, something android is not sababu apart from the kernel the rest of it is not...
So nikirudi kwenye point yangu au kuiweka clear zaidi, the idea behind ubuntu touch ni convergence... which in previous attempts was done by bringing desktop Linux in the form mobile OS(Maemo, Moblin etc) and it never succeeded, android is not doing that, na ndio maana there isn't much you can do an android that is directly similar to desktop Linux
