Hi rufcast how many channels can you recieve? Here at Kapenguria im able to recieve 110 channels with 90cm and Samson lnb, has anybody recieved irib package on this sat?
Thanks Ruffcast and Ugango. Ruffcast, where did you get your special Ku band LNB holder?. Interesting that Ugango failed to nail BADR with a 1.8m Prime Focus dish in Nairobi, I am wondering if it is worth trying. If you look at the footprint of the BADR Beams, their is a blip down towards Lake Victoria, otherwise the footprint shows only marginal coverage in north of Turkana District, and nothing much in Nairobi. I wonder if this could explain how Ruffcast was able to nab the bird but Ugango could not track it?

I agree with you that both lnb's are for prime focus and the second works better for me. But just a clarification from your setup; do you mean you can modify the prime focus lnb to be used in offset?i beg to differ with you on that, both this lnbs are for prime focus dishes, you affix either of this on an offset dish and you wont get no signal. My hunt for 7e last night made me cut up a eurostar quad and fuji single as illustrated by a fellow ASAS addict and i still didnt manage to lock onto the european beam although there was a remarkable jump in quality on the zimbo frequency (12728 h 30000) of 10% from 71% to 81%. After a blind scan with the 4922 i was suprised to see 4.8e and 5e all pop up with very high signal levels. The hunt would have continued well into the night had it not been for the liverpool game which started at 10pm and i had to cede my rights to the tv to the epl fans in the hse. A forum member told me that i must hit atleast 87% on the zimbo tp for the european beam to pop up, the hunt continues later today as ASAS patients have a never give up attitude which comes with the package. Digiturk here i come.

I took my tv outdoors near my dish to add eutelsat 7e lnb together with the existing nilesat 7w/eutelsat8w
though i did not succeed in modification of the setup, i am not giving up
but i learnt something today: the starlife single lnb is outperfoming the stargold fuji lnb
i noted significant improvement in signal levels with the former so much that i left it and removed the stargold

Hi in my experience the Stargold Fuji is still better. Getting 64% on discovery

if its irib on 82e forget about it, just swing your dish to 20e.

Apart from carrying TV to roof tops and using expensive signal gadgets are their other ways of tracking/tuning signals.
im interested in knowing the techniques/gadgets we all use
Signals have been stable except 11617 which tends to fade at night. It is currently raining now and I'm getting 56% -57% Discovery on 11554 E! ent 11513 is around 57-58% now thought it is normally around 60%. Generally the only freq that is temperamental is 11617.The verdict is out there still...
While we are at it, do some of your signals drop from evening to early morning? On 7e? From 11492 to 11513? The group that has nickelodeon sd, discovery channel, intimacy etc
Yes that is correct. The trickiest frequency to achieve is 11617 that has History and Nat Geo. The rest are stable. it took alot of patience but is 7E achievableHi Bigphil,
Can I just make sure that I understand your last post correctly. You are able to get Eutelsat 7E Europe beam (Turkish channels) using a 6ft (1.8m) Prime Focus dish and a Stargold Fuji Prime Focus Ku band LNB in Nairobi. Is that right?
