African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Hi rufcast how many channels can you recieve? Here at Kapenguria im able to recieve 110 channels with 90cm and Samson lnb, has anybody recieved irib package on this sat?

The channels and the sats you provided, have you been able to track them?

Personally i have only 2 from the list, 7e and i also have a jsc card so no hussles for me, but i put it out there for enthusiasts to know the very many options they have....

I agree with you that both lnb's are for prime focus and the second works better for me. But just a clarification from your setup; do you mean you can modify the prime focus lnb to be used in offset?

Interesting msondaa.. Thats some real ingenuity there! please keep us posted on the results.

I'm seeing this on flysat "Eutelsat 8 West C @ 7.8° West" is it a new satellite? Is it receivable?

Hi all,

Apart from carrying TV to roof tops and using expensive signal gadgets are their other ways of tracking/tuning signals.

im interested in knowing the techniques/gadgets we all use

Hi in my experience the Stargold Fuji is still better. Getting 64% on discovery
6ft dish in Nairobi
See attached

Ruffcast

which location are you , using 90cm dish and getting cnn,

MSHOndaa what did you use to join the feed horn to lnb. I need to do one for my 1.8m dish on a star gold lnb

monkey13 that is interesting info that you use 90cm at kapenguria! which tp has the highest strength and quality that can be used to easily track the bird. have finished calibrating the lnb arm for my 1.8m offset and want to nab this bird in Nairobi.

Hi Bigphil,

Can I just make sure that I understand your last post correctly. You are able to get Eutelsat 7E Europe beam (Turkish channels) using a 6ft (1.8m) Prime Focus dish and a Stargold Fuji Prime Focus Ku band LNB in Nairobi. Is that right?

Thanks

I wonder whatever happened to Eutelsat 3D at 3 degrees East, Africa Beam. The Eutelsat website shows an Africa beam footprint with strong signal coverage over East Africa, but Lyngsat does not show any channels for Africa beam, strange that they would set up a satellite able to transmit to East and Central Africa, but not put any content on it for months. Anybody have any news?

Infact tho are the only two methods...earlier back in the analog era we used to listen to the tv while turning the dish!it was like settin an aerial nowdays til u get a clear picture : )

The verdict is out there still...
While we are at it, do some of your signals drop from evening to early morning? On 7e? From 11492 to 11513? The group that has nickelodeon sd, discovery channel, intimacy etc
Signals have been stable except 11617 which tends to fade at night. It is currently raining now and I'm getting 56% -57% Discovery on 11554 E! ent 11513 is around 57-58% now thought it is normally around 60%. Generally the only freq that is temperamental is 11617.
If it is not raining tomorrow I will get you morning and evening signal strengths

Yes that is correct. The trickiest frequency to achieve is 11617 that has History and Nat Geo. The rest are stable. it took alot of patience but is 7E achievable

That bird was formally located at 13E as Hot bird 13A it was renamed as Eutelsat 8W C when it got into 7W neighberhood...I belive for it 2b competitive it has to have a Mena beam!bt lets wait n see!
