African Satellite World and Sat Gear

What exactly do you want to know about the Openbox V8 Combo? Just post it here and i will be of assistance to you and others who might be interested. TIA.

I have updated my Openbox V8 with the latest SW from FREESAT (V3.801.150) and it still does not open PV channels and worst of all it has stopped opening DT on 7E which were opening with my old SW (V3.6.167). Please do not tell me to go to "Menu>Conditional Access>Press 6666>Key Edit" because that does not help me at all. All would be fine if you gave us a pictorial example showing for example how to enter keys for SkyNews on IS 20 freq. 4064 H 19850. Although I have the keys, the V8 unlike SRT 4922, will in addition ask for "Provid, Type, Idx, Sid etc". I am told there is a simpler way to enter them, and that is by softcam key. My question is; which softcam key has both keys for DT on 7E and PV on IS 20, Apstar plus some essential BISS keys all in one key file. Please note that if your stb already has keys for 7E and you enter a softcam key for PV, it will automatically erase all previous keys and vice versa.

So Bwana Muzombozi, in very simple and un-technical English, kindly please explain to us how one can have PV, D**T, and other BISS keys on Openbox at the same time. Remember I am on SW v 3.801.150 and I am told (by freesat) that I cannot downgrade to an older SW version.

The easiest way to add PV keys without affecting the b**s keys for 7e is to first get the softcam with keys for 7e found on netkeysat.net. Once you have gotten that file, open it using a text editor such as Notepad, scroll to the section with PV keys ie those keys preceded by a P. Erase the existing PV keys only and then replace (copy and paste) with the new PV keys from their source into this softcam file and save it. Now, follow the usual procedure to upload the softcam file into the box and you will have all keys inside. I hope that helps.

P/S Getting the right keys is an individual effort and i should not be held responsible for that.

Thank you in Advance.

Well explained. That was my assignment on Friday and it was so successful. If one is serious in this thing, you have to be a little experimental.

Can someone explain to me how Power Vu on 4950h works when one is at 7w, i ve gone to SECA but from there what next...? Afadhali.

Seems Apstar 7 at 76.5e has gone off position or has fallen.

No signal since morning

second hand 5-7k. 180 got it for 1.5k. lnb included
65cm z*ku dish should be about 1,000/-, 90cm ds*v dish is about 2500/- the 130cm is about 5,000/- the price seems to double with any slight movement in size, mind you these are in demand na hazita kwama in the shop. Reading through the forum every one keeps asking that member with 165cm where he got it, even when the entire populace of the forum was yearning for big offset dishes, the shops which we do quote and refer members to refused to stock the simply because to them there is no demand for big offset dishes.

Let me take you down memory lane, a forum member saw big offset dishes at the airport on inquiring from the owner the quoted price was 3,000 dollars not ksh, then another got wind of a firm selling 150cm dish, it turned out to be a second hand one and the price was ksh 15,000/-, then there are the subbi dishes that were a hit at the beginning of the year they cost ksh 12000/- without the lnb or dish mounting and as some forum members posted her it cost over ksh 40,000/- to fabricate the lnb arms and dish mounts ( I had ordered one but eventually i was told they were detained at the border, that was like 6 months ago, luckily i had not paid for it at the time), and not forgetting that locally 240cm prie focus is over 20,000/-. Take it this was 180 pf is claimed not to be as good as 130cm offset therefore for 150cm offset at a price lower than 240 pf, its a steal.

Muzombozi, count me in, wacha mwezi iishe hope they will still be in stock. Lastly thanks for sporting an opportunity where others have refused to see one.

Looks like it off in the morning together with Intel 10/20 at 68degree east:high5:

that is your own math, I don't give a ***. ......no one is forcing you to see reason
