4922 is available though now a bit expensive. 8k . you'll regret buying the Open box V8 combo. plus compare the prices of both the receivers online. strong 4922 is 3 times X pensive. obviously there's a reason it is

My SRT 4950H opens Sony kix and others and whenever I turn it off and on the channels come scrambled and keys deleted, any solutions

Drandonzero, you need to upload key file from the Dec, do the editing on the computer and upload back to the Dec, apart from sixhbocnn any others?

Go to freesat.cn download the latest software unzip using winrar the upgrade using usb choose "all code option" once upgraded look for softcam keys for pv then go to conditional access menu press 6666. Then import keys and voila! your done after exiting.

I think the manufacturer doesn't pay much attention to the product. that's because other models of the same have good and stable upgrades unlike v8 combo's crappy s/ws . . ... I have done more than enough to nab the is20c goodies with it but to no avail. managed a few but they still freeze. All in all its a crappy box.

I am a proud owner of openbox v8 combo currently on Apstar and IS 20 enjoying PV Goodies. I owned Srt 4922 sold it some years back due reasons best known to me. Honestly i prefer Openbox v8 combo. I rest my case. Software issues can always be resolved. In FTA nothing is permanent.

only saying the truth 4922 works where v8 combo doesn't. it doesn't read some movies (from flash drive) that 4922 does. besides the 4922 am using isn't mine, the combo's.

Actually, this should be a healthy debate. I have all the softwares from November 2014, Dec, Jan, Feb, March, April, june, july and 2 For September 2015. I also have an rs 232 cable to flash the receiver. Which i have done using stb tool 1.8 severally like 15 times. The most stable is the one for April but doesnt support power vu. The best for power vu is the one for June but it will occasionally reboot needind rs232. Sina shida hapo hii ni hobby. Pictures are clear no tearing or freezing on apstar and power vu. But for July and September there is tearing and freezing kidogo. This is not a problem of the decoder but of the power vu emu software. Its unfair to blame the decoder wholesome.

That issue is software dependent/upgrade dependent. Some upgrades work very well. Av connected mine to an external hard drive can watch movies formats very well.
