Fellow 4950h-ers just wondering wats the use of the RF in port if the decoder is not a combo ? To what use can i use put it ?

Have used it for seven months now,no issues though it once got bricked when upgrading but was able to unbrick it,the interface is easy to use and best of all it's a combo (S/S2 and T/T2),no separate stb for local terrestrial channels.Support and updates available at freesat service

Hey, I was checking out the SAT>IP feature this morning and its a Joy..🙂 I am on Nilesat with a 130cm in Nairobi. I have a wireless router plugged to the box via Ethernet cable and the router Distributes wireless Network to the home. The router is 3G so I can browse the Net with wifi or watch IPTV with the BOX. So here is the cool thing.. I downloaded MoliPlayer pro for Lumia.. its available for android as well 🙂 then switched on SAT>IP. MoliPlayer detected the Openbox and straight on my phone..all my favourite channels both SAT and Terrestial popped up. If I select a channel showing on TV, The channel gets sent to my phone 🙂 if I select a different channel.. the TV channel switches to that channel.

whats my point?

With this box and a wireless router..
You can have your phone as a secondary screen if you happen to be helping out in the kitchen 🙂 or if you have guests and the TV has to be off.. you can grab your phone..or tablet and walk away to enjoy what ASAS gave you 🙂 The box has to be on of course.. The only drawback is that it has one tuner so you only watch what the box is tuned in to.. but its not that big a deal for the price..

For those who own Openbox V8 Combo/Pro and other recievers which CA Protocol for entering keys,you can download SOFTCAM KEY here Netkeysat.net ,save it in your usb stick,go to Menu>Tools>Conditional Access>Press 6666>Key Edit>MGCAMD BISS>Import.If your dish is well positioned to Eutelsat 7°E Europe B Beam,blind scan and it will open D*G*T**K Channels ,no need to buy SRT 4950H if you already own such a stb.
NOTE:THE SAID SOFTCAM KEY DECRYPTS ONLY SD CHANNELS.

channel list or firmware process s very simple
but also require extra care. every time you put
a USB into the box, and upgrade the firmware
or channel list, you will be very lucky to come
out with the box still working. So you might be
facing a bunch of issues, your Skybox keeps
restarting, it says “LOAD” and doesn’t switch
on properly, it basically is not working. And to
fix the box you need to re-flash it and you can
find out the whole procedure and tools required
by visiting the link below.

This is very helpful information Bro. It's called having information to make informed decision. I have checked out on the WWW and seems from the review like a good stb to have.

That may be so. But the point is that it would have made more sense to speak to the issue he raised which i believe is based on his interaction with the device.
