African Satellite World and Sat Gear

hi friends, am getting good quality (green) from eutelsat (7a 7e), hotbird 13e, astra 3a/3b & others, the signal & quality is good, but am only getting islamic & scrambled channels, also the famed nilesat 7w where too most of the channels are scrambled. what is needed to be done to enjoy view of documentaries & movie channels? Am a DIY person.. Waiting to hear from u guys.

Can I nab Nilesat or Digiturk when the dish is on the ground?? Or it should be placed on a higher area??

yes u can. am doing nilesat on d ground and getting arnd 500 channels of which 300 r viewable rest HV scratches. and am down in Mombasa.

Hi, I'm also in Mombasa. I am debating between Azam TV and satellite dish 1.3m and 4950H. Which documentaries and movie channels am I likely to get? I was told it is hard to receive signals in this region unless one has a gigantic 1.8m-2.4m dish.

True, "According to the validity of his subscription"

But at the end of the day, you have to agree the annual option is much more easier and accomodative

what i discoverd annual subs is just the same with buying a new decoder.....at the moment in dubai is 950AED wich i find strange or how do u see it guys

You are getting the African beam on 7e. The European beam is a bit elusive. Check for example what signal quality you're getting on 10804H30000, 11616V30000, 11533V30000

Hey guys, anyone in Kenya wishing to import gadgets and freight via DHL....be warned there's a standard fee of ksh5000( around USD60) being charged by customs.....was asked to pay a total of ksh8474 at the customs department for a receiver worth USD 30...!!!

Congs ndugu Edson05, that's the spirit.
Last evening I changed the old LNB for NSS 12 and the UG Mux disappeared. That is when I realised that the make of the old LNB is RT, which means it is an inverto black ultra (I think??). It is so old and scratched and has no other identification except the RT in raised writing on the side. With a cheap LNB, there was no locking on the signal on 90cm offset dish. We can therefore conclude that you need 100cm and above to pull the channels in with a standard universal LNB.

WAW!!!, I also got confused yesturday, i have been getting these channels loud and clear on my 90cm dish and Inverto altra black quad lnb. because of the much potential of this LNB, i switch it to 7A and attached Fortec star LNB. but the signal has been on and off for noreason. suprisingly, when it's on, it is alwas above 80%. To stablise the signal, I think i will put back the Inverto altra Back LNB form now.

:yo: Speaking of Inverto black ultra, any chance of acquiring one around town?

Bro, it's not available here, I tried almost every shop. Sent for mine from Kenya. The quad version cost me about 125,000/= Uganda shillings.

Victor.
By the way, I can sell it to you at 100,000/= Uganda shillings if you really need it.
