Goodmorning House. Anyone with idea where i can get Openbox V8 combo in Dubai? I am from Malawi and my brother is travelling there next week. Blessed are brothers from Kenya and Uganda, coz these boxes are everywhere i understand. Please direct your brother and/or suggest otherwise. Alternatively i will go for SRT4950H coz i have contacts.

I have been with my SRT 4950H for a week now and I have not had any problems so far.
I patched it with V3.15P software immediately after buying it.
It is a rather complicated receiver to operate and you need a lot of patience when using it.
It is certainly not suitable for newbies.
Why not try out the new software V3.16p. Maybe it will make you happy.

I have had my 4950H for a while now and have been faithfully updating it. I have the V3.15P and have had no issues. And yes, one needs to take time to understand it but once you understand it, operating it is a walk in the park. It's a nice stb. Is that V3.16P really a patch update? It's only 628b and a txt file!

Faya: are they really receivable on Terrestrial as njunwa asked? My terrestrial stb doesn't receive any, even if scrambled. A scan brings one channel named MBCI, which is not anywhere close to the MBC as we know them. You must be getting them on satellite, through your srt 4950. I stand to be corrected though....

fter more fiddling am now on Amos 5 (17e) I think I'll chill here for a while...good channels..

What dish size are you using? There's a time I bumped into that bird as I was hunting the elusive 7e. I think I elevated it my dish a little bit high. I noticed the Kenyan mux are there, but since I receive them on terrestrial, I just lowered my dish a little bit and got the 7e.

This TP 12519 30000 is on the footprint of west-central of Africa.Those how are on northern parts of Tanzania and western of Kenya they can use dish of 90cm offset, the rest parts of Kenya 120cm offset.Note that 90cm offset we usually use on Amos 5 @17 E here in Kenya, the footprint is on East-West of Africa.

True bro i was able to pull it down using 6ft pf dish but failed to hit green on the tp hosting NATGEO & BOOMERANG (FRANCE) location VOI KENYA (COAST PROVINCE)

Those channels are on Eutelsat 16A not Amos5 to get them you have to maximise signal on 16E.
