Freddy, in your inline amp set up, are you using the diseq switch? If yes, what position is the switch in relation to the LNB/receiver? That will be helpful before we embark on the project

Hey freddygaz, I also wanted to know whether it can be used together with a diseqc switch.
Thanks.

My setup with the line amp doesn't pass through any diseq switch coz it compromises the quality....as per using the diseq switch as a line amp it works too but as long u connect the cable from the lnb to the diseq to b used as an amp
Cheers all

how come champions tv is not popping its on the same tp

gich my discovery still cracks after all that,:-(how is it on your end
Deno, I have not embarked on these options. I want to try all, the thin wire, the inline amp and using the diseq switch as an inline amp and see what will work. I will keep you posted.

The day I will get a stable signal on the tps hosting discovery and idiman, I will be a happy man. I am almost concluding I may need to get a bigger dish than my current 1.8m pf.

u should also drop one side of the dish. (try to hold one side of the dish down while on that tp which is cracking,) first move. eg IDx eutelsat 7a e

and the soap opera continues.
Gotv now heading to court.

It has come to our attention that four (4) Free-To-Air stations namely Citizen, KTN, NTV and QTV are currently running an infomercial on their platforms specifically advising consumers against purchasing GOtv set top boxes for carrying their content without consent.

GOtv Kenya Limited would like to assure Kenyans that the company operates within the confines of the laws of Kenya. GOtv Kenya has been and continues to air the content of the above mentioned four stations, amongst others, pursuant to a ‘must carry' obligation imposed by Regulation 14 (2) (b) of the Kenya Information and Communications (Broadcasting) Regulations 2009, whose objective is to ensure that the public has access to information.

The Supreme Court, in Supreme Court of Kenya at Nairobi Petition No.14 of 2014 Communications Commission of Kenya & 5 others v Royal Media Services Limited & 5 others by judgment delivered on 29 September 2014, affirmed that the ‘must carry' rule does not infringe on the broadcasters' copyright.

GOtv offers 11 local TV channels and more than 70 additional channels including pay TV and Free to Air Channels on DVB-T2 technology.

GOtv is authorized by the Communications Authority of Kenya, it was the first provider in Kenya to launch DVB-T2 technology over three years ago.

The latest infomercial is not only defamatory of GOtv, misleading to the public but also contemptuous of the court orders stated above.

GOtv shall move to court for contempt proceedings and damages.

We take this opportunity to thank you our valued subscribers for your continued support and to assure you that all content aired on the GOtv platform is legal and legitimate.

Signed,
Felix Kyengo
General Manager - GOtv

Bubba, kindly expound a bit more of your setup to help us understand it better. Like what is the connection path for the 7E LNB from LNB to decoder. I notice one of your diseqc switches does not have an output connection, is it still functional with an input connection being used as an output?
Regards

I didn't connect to output port but to the ports opposite each other. this helped me to gain an additional percentage of signal. tx

Bubba may you please give us a detailed comprehensive descriptive explanation on how this thing works, and is it a diseqc switch or amp booster as some one mentioned, and how much signal does it improve asap.

Court bars KTN, Citizen TV,
NTV from airing Anti GoTV /
Star Time Promo
Posted on Tue, 20th Jan 2015
The Kenya high court has barred local
broadcasters KTN, NTV and Citizen TV from
airing an informercial alleging that
Multichoice's Gotv and Star Times were
violating their copyright by carrying their
signal without permission. The court issued
the injunction on Monday stopping the
advert pending the hearing and
determination of the case filed by Gotv and
Startime. Speaking anonymously to
Trending Newsroom, the media houses, say
it was a great opportunity for them to go to
court and raise their legitimate concerns as
regards copyright infringement.
"Such violation is going to set a bad
precedence not only in Kenya but in Africa
if such copyright infringement is going to
be tolerated," said the source.
StarTimes and GOtv sued the four local
media stations for defamation. The two said
in separate statements had thereatened to
take NTV,KTN, Citizen and QTV to court for
defaming and maligning their brand.
This is after the four TV stations ran an
infomercial urging Kenyans not to buy
decoders from GOtv and StarTimes but
instead wait for other ‘legit’ decoders
which will be in the market soon.
The stations state that they have not
authorised StarTimes and GOtv to run their
content and have therefore infringed on
the copyright of the stations.
StarTimes have however defended
themselves saying that they "air the
content of the above mentioned four
stations, amongst others, pursuant to a
'must carry' obligation imposed by
Regulation 14 (2) (b) of the Kenya
Information and Communications
(Broadcasting) Regulations 2009, whose
objective is to ensure that the public has
access to information."
They accused the four local stations of
misleading Kenyans.
