Morning too....there was a member in our earlier forums ....l think he used a 2.8M PF dish to get hotbird with 75% of the channels coming in...his location was Khatoum which is 6° above you.....hope thea is a sidelobe that extends into Ethiopia....
Arabsat 5A is a headache for us guys 10° south of you....investing in a 3M dish is the only option coz even Badr 26E we can't get the My HD channels unless you are close to the equator 🙂

I'll give a try on the Hotbird and will announce the result to the house!
Regarding the Arabsat 5A @ 30.5° east,i suggest you try to nab it again.as you can see on the Foot Print Map for The PanArab beam of Arabsat 5A below, which hosts the best FTA channel(EriTv 2) to watch The BPL,La-Liga,Serie A and many other football matchs Live, much parts of Kenya are included, specialy those which are in the North,East and Southern part of it.just try to pull down the bird using 10923/h/17000(Saudi Sport) or 12525/v/6000(IMN).after you get a signal on these TPs,wait untill 10 or 5 minutes before any football match's kick-off and input 12606/v/2589 then do your best to fine tune it.

NOTE:
1,ERITREA TV 2 is a feed channel, you'll not get its signal when there're no Live Events!
2,The best LNB type we use here to track this bird is the Strong brand LNB!
3,Use a clean 1.8m or bigger pf dish(but i think the 1.8m will be enough) to get the best out of it!
4,Try to find and use the standard cable available in the market!

I'll keep my fingers crossed and i hope you'll be coming back with a good news!

BEST OF LUCKS!!!!

Real Madrid vs Cruz Azul FIFA Club world cup live now on TRT sport 10762V 30000 7E. Chelsea vs Derby county live on IRIB Veresh @10.45 on 20E. Enjoy....viva fta

my discovery channel keeps cracking on d*gturk,am using a eurostar LNBf on a 6 ft pf,so am guessing its the culprit

A 2.4m offset wasnt sufficient to fully nab 30e just about two transponders came in I think the Saudi sport one as Kungu had stated earlier...its footprint shows it covers north west of Kenya bt on the ground it seems to be further north....

With a dish that size and beauty, you don't need to hunt for channels.
Just leave it on the ground and all impossible channels will just find their way to it.
No need for elevating and swinging the dish or tuning and tweaking the LNB. LOL !!!!!!!

What channels do you what to nab. And how much will the dish cost vs paying for service?
