You could hook stb to (pc) TV card's AV in and use its internal program to capture video.

amc, Americas favorite channel has finally landed on our shores via azam tv, the channel has replaced mgm movies.
now i can watch my favourite series, the walking dead as soon as its released.
one thing about azam I've seen is they are charging kenyans more money for monthly subscription as in TZ its kshs 625.
guess its coz Kenyans are heavily taxed and we dont complain. and i also wonder why they left out the mbc package from their promotion poster

You can acquire any of the high end British Technomate combo receivers and you will be in satellite heaven.
TECHNOMATE TM-7102 HD (Triple tuner 2 x DVB-S2 and 1 x DVB-T2)
TECHNOMATE TM-6902 HD SUPER+ (Twin tuner DVB-S2 and DVB-T2)

These 2 receivers are equiped with AV IN sockets in both composite and component modes where you can play all your other decoders, VCR, DVD players, Cameras etc via above TECHNOMATE receivers.
For example you can connect your cheapest dstv decoder or your old VCR or camera to TM-7102HD via AV IN and upscale your picture via HDMI and even record the content on your HDD inside the receiver or any USB mass storage connected to the Technomate. For better picture results it is better to use the component outputs (Red, Green, Blue) of your pay TV decoder if it has them.

I bought my TM-7102 HD in May at UK£350 and it came with a 1Tb HDD inside. It also has 2 USB ports (front/rear).
One thing that I found interesting is that its TV interface is similar to that of Strong receivers with just a few minor
differences. Even the remote is similar but not interchangeable.
Software updates especially "patches" are periodically and widely available, so you can do your 6969, 8280 & 8282 tricks.

Their patches are known as "phantompatches" and since last year they open the digiturk goodies on 7E. Digiturk opens on most of their models like TM-7102HD, TM-6902HD, TM-5402HD.
TECHNOMATE receivers have very sensitive tuners especially TM-5402HD (this is their cheapest HD single tuner model and resembles the old Strong models with round window). More sensitive in fact than SRT 4922. e.g. where ANIMAL PLANET on 7E breaks and scratches on SRT 4922, the picture is clear and very smooth on my TM-7102HD.

Their combo receivers have very good terrestrial T2 tuners and here in Kampala I get all the new digital terrestrial channels with a simple TV aerial (about 24 channels FTA). Once scanned you can arrange and mix your terrestrial channels with satellite channels and make your own favorite group as you like.

Finally all the TM models mentioned above have RF outputs in addition to HDMI, component and composite AV outputs.

Even myself I have acquired the 8ft offset dishes without mounting and nb arms. However, they can be fabricated by your local welders when given dimensions.
