African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Glad to know you succeeded. You can see the brand name does not matter only the chipset is what counts.

precisely! so the adapter can be a TP-Link ,linksys etc ...so far any usb wifi adapter with chipset
Ralink Rt3070 and RT5370 can work with SRT4922 e.g

Ruffcast can you confirm for me the 5West KTN's signal stability? Mine is weak on 8ft. I guess it needs fine-tuning.

Guys catch Family Tv1 &Family Tv2 @17e and lately @68.5e both on ku-band.

KTN signal strength on 5West has always been low.. even with a 12ft mesh it gives me trouble at times. I had planned on getting it from 10E alongside others but now that I hear it has left that position I wont bother.

BET hosted by Gotv on the digital platform is fta. Was watching My wife and Kids after the mancity game. Enjoy!

exactly!.. I have managed to strike some middle ground and now getting the three Satellites using one lnb.. It took some compromise but at least now I get CNN,BBC,CCTV,Press TV,Dubai One,Euronews from Nilesat 201 ,Aljazeera America ,The MBC channels from Eutelsat 8 West A and the rest from Eutelsat 7 West A

Eutelsat 8 West A
MBC tp - 65%
Al Jazeera America tp - 60%

Eutelsat 7 West A
Fox Movies tp - 81%
Dubai Racing HD - 80%

Nilesat 201
CNN tp - 68%
MTV -66%
Dubai one -72%
BBC - 70%

My Dish Size is 1.2m and i'm using an inverto Black Ultra lnb. locations shores of Lake Victoria, Homabay Couty

I had to make the sacrifice on regaining the MBCs. I have lost the CNNs and the MTVs. The sight of MBC 2 channel filling my screen is so refreshing...إن شاء الله Tomorrow i shall work towards striking that delicate balance in achieving both set of channels!

Today was "on the roof" day!:flame: i have also just finished tweaking the 7W/8W setup. not too hard, you just need to set your priorities then make the cut.:decision::A S 109::smash:. woe be unto you if you do not have a proper signal meter etc. like me. you then have to go up there with the spare telly. if your balancing act is ok. :crutch:else cooperation from down under gets veeeery veeeery scarce as time goes by. :attention::deadhorse:

So you managed to attain the balance and now have both the CNNs and the MBCs?

not quite. MBC's won this evening. kesho i will do the deed.else i will just piggy-back another lnb on the existing one.

Bluez, the graduations on the back of the dish are elevation angle degrees. they are to help you get the elevation right for the desired satellite, from your location. if your mounting pole(the round tube that came with your dish) is not dead upright, those graduations are useless. you get a spirit level and make sure your pole is truely upright. and it stays that way, both with the weight of the dish and wind and doves perching on it. mount it very firmly.
as for the L90% and Q0%, the L is gibberish. it is a relative signal strength from the satellite, any radiation. the Q is signal quality from your desired satellite. 0% means you are facing the wrong direction. not quite pointed to it.
have a look at some tutorials so you get the hang of it(determining what to buy and how to get satellite location etc). it makes introduction to your installations less painfull. HughesNet HX VSAT terminal installation
hope it helps you. it did help me a lot.
