African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Two days ago, I came across a Twin Inverto Black Ultra LNB from Digital Life Electronics shop at Nairobi for Sh.3000 (USD35). Yesterday I tested it on a 130Cm Eurostar dish facing 7 East Europe beam and realized that it has 3 percent higher on quality compared to the Single Inverto. As per the specifications on the manufacturer's website, it has a 0.2dB noise figure.
Check: Inverto - IDLB-TWNL40-ULTRA-OPP -

An ASAS story...

Inspired by FTA_Nash recent feat at Kinoo.. I decided to go shopping and got myself a 130cm offset at a price of 4800 KES. Got home and realized unlike the 90cm.. this beast has no supporting wall bracket(arm) packed so i went to my local welder and fabricated a 2 inch girth steel pipe 1 meter across by 70 cm high ... fixed it...no wind sheer..well protected... threw the Astel RG6 all the way down... got to the balcony and shucks.. it feel short by 10m.. all electrical shops closed by then.. 8pm Sunday.🙁 so the story continues today..

Where did you get the 130cm dish for 4800sh? How did you transport it?

I got it at smart technologies..some shop on first floor opposite tuskys express.. I transported it using a Nissan matatu. Sat on the front behind the driver.. we were two guys..one carried the dish, the other..accessories. it fits well upright.

PS. I am not sure about the last part of the name.. but if you take the staircase to first floor, you will see the Eurostar 130 cm stacked on the wall. Riwara were talking 5500 or 5000 so I think I saved myself some cash.

all members, any one knowing how to activate biss menu on star-x2525 full hd plus?

Haya, I am waiting for the results. In the meantime where did you land that bargain? (Sh.4800)

This might be related to recent post by Permie (Post No.4400 on 17th February) below:

...... I received info that family tv is in talk with other local stations to have Kenyan mux on ku and they will be migrating from Amos5. Only NTV are yet to agree .....

They better place them all on one easily accessible Ku-Sat to speed up digital migration. Last year, a top Permanent Secretary in Government had indicated that they would consider placing the Mux on a dedicated Sat TP to improve coverage in areas not covered by DVB-T2 providers. This is long overdue. One of the challenges would be whether the TP should be hosted in a spot beam covering only Kenya (or East Africa), or on a wide Ku-Band beam covering entire Sub-Saharan Africa such as 5East, 7East, 36East, etc.

hi, lets hope that they will post kenyan mux on satelites that are easily nabbed like those of our brothers tz at c band. Waiting big for that infor...plz update us when the onfor is revealed....haki kenya bado tuko nyuma mpaka chetu chenyewe tunataka kuuziwa.

Have suffered the same suspicion, others even thought my 1.8m would interfere with their D**v reception! Just keep on with your magics. we have seen the light. keep the FTA spirit burning

Munyaga The shop is in a building opposite Tuskys Express entrance.. first floor. They don't negotiate.. I guess they know they are the cheapest in town 🙂

Mr Kungu, if you could be knowing how to activate biss menu on star-x2525
full hd plus, help me

kenyan tv stations are so backwards, they should unite, pick a KU sat, multiply and uplink their content, have a HD decoder branded e.g. 4922, have the govt subsidies it and sell it to kenyans. everyone is happy except bigbrother z*k* and ds*v
