The length of the rods are not supposed to change as the focal length doesn't change.

Your dish is part of a full sphere, when you gradually complete the missing parts which is what you'll be doing when extending the edges, the centre of the sphere which is also the focal point of the dish does not change.

So sad, they migrated to nowhere. Last month, they announced that they will cease broadcasting from 1 May 2019 without giving a reason.
