Tested both Strong Srt 4922 Hd & Strong 4950H over the weekend to see which of the two was more user friendly and easier to use. Srt 4950H A good example of STEP 1 blindscan>> I Scanned Eutelsat 7 East A yesterday for sports feed using STEP 1 and got the 2 live Dstv Kenyan matches feeds on Frequency 11063 H DVB-S2 8PSK SR 6111>>>

Hi Kungu, many thanks for this good post.. much appreciated. I note that you are getting very good signal quality and strengths. What Lnb and dish size are you using? I am still having alot of difficulty locking on to the digiturk package on Eutelsat 7A at 7.0°E . I bought a Fuji Stargold and it didn't help, I tried a Sanstech fuji, it didn't help either.. now considering purchasing a Inverto Black Ultra for use on my 1.8m prime focus. Whats your advice?

Eutelsat and Azam Media have signed a long-term contract for capacity on the Eutelsat 7A satellite.

Azam Media will use 108 MHz of capacity connected to the satellite’s African footprint as the platform to broadcast its new TV venture, AzamTV, into sub-Saharan Africa, starting in East Africa, from its base in Tanzania.

Azam Media is in the final stages of preparation to launch AzamTV, a platform of over 55 African and international channels for a monthly subscription of the local equivalent of $8.

The platform will include three home-grown channels, Azam One, Azam Two and Sinema Zetu (films in Kiswahili). It will also broadcast live and recorded Tanzania Premier League matches and carry the top free-to-air channels in each of the countries it covers.
From its target home market in Tanzania, the platform will be commercialized rapidly across East Africa before being extended across sub-Saharan Africa.

AzamTV will be compressed in MPEG4 and uplinked by Eutelsat to the Eutelsat 7A satellite from its Cagliari teleport in Sardinia. In addition to capacity and uplink services, Eutelsat has developed a training programme for installers called ‘Satëlite’ to ensure that subscribers to AzamTV receive the best service for the installation of their DTH equipment.
Over the last two weeks of October the ‘Satëlite’ team successfully trained over 500 installers from across Tanzania.

Commenting on the launch, Rhys Torrington, CEO of Azam Media, said: “The arrival of AzamTV as a trans-continental pay-TV platform finally marks the availability of affordable and high-quality digital channels for viewers in Tanzania and way beyond.
With the footprint and the services provided by Eutelsat we benefit from a solid platform and unrivaled DTH experience that will help transform into reality our vision of delivering exceptional entertainment at a great price into ordinary TV homes across the region.”

Jean-François Leprince-Ringuet, Eutelsat’s CCO, added: “We are delighted to forge this new relationship with a leading Tanzanian company poised to accelerate East Africa’s transition to digital and offer viewers the dual benefits of increased choice and exceptional signal quality.
The African footprint and power of Eutelsat 7A combined with our knowledge of building audience reach and installer training will support this exciting new venture in Africa’s dynamic broadcasting market.”

Azam Media belongs to Bakhresa Group, one of the leading industrial houses in Tanzania.

I saw this update on the charts .. seems like competition of getting hot in TZ. with Azam joining Ting. But I wonder why according to lyngsat Azam TV is broadcasting on European C beam

All,
Has anyone succeeded in getting: Digiturk on Eutelsat 7A at 7.0°E (European beam) and the Nilesats (Nilesat 201 at 7.0°W and Eutelsat 7 West A at 7.3°W) on one dish, say 120Cm offset or 180Cm Prime focus?
If so, please share, including photos. That would be So Wonderful.

The news TPs on Nile 201 (CNN, BBC, Euronews, MTV, etc) can be found on the Digiturk package. This means, one could fix a main LNB for Digiturk and a second one for Eutelsat 7 West A at 7.3°W. These satellites are only 17 degrees apart (i.e., 7E minus 7W = 14).

That's my project for December when I climb the roof again! ......... ASAS symptoms are showing up in me again!

This should be possible, given that a multi-LNB mix of Nilesats (7West), SES5 (5 East) and Amos5 (17 East), all 24 degrees apart has been tried and found to be successful; (i.e., 17E - 7W = 24).

However, anyone close to there setups may try and share the results.

I have attached here a setup done by Mr. Freddygaz in September 2012 to generate some ideas ...........
Freddygaz, over to you and your great multi-LNB fixing skills!

What I can say the two satellites are fridge reception.....ie 7E&7W to nab both of them you need a bigger surface area.....lets say starting at 300cm dish going up to compensate on those cloudy days
The easiest way is to get two 180cm dishes with marched feed and you are gud for the hunt!

Good Afternoon drandonzero,

You will require the SID code for your wiz -999 HD receiver.

I have not had a chance to play with wiz -999 HD, but hopefully one of the following methods might help.

On Skybox receivers, you get the SID code of a scramble tv channel under biss by pressing the INFO button 3 times.
e.g we are looking for the SID of Pak sports on Paksat 1R.

8223234492_c2d267597e.jpg

For Skybox receivers, one requires both SID & CAID code.

8222232239_0945826fe6.jpg

You note down the CAID & SID code, then enter the said codes on Biss/constant word key table + current biss key of the channel you want to open>>>

8223234596_40e3289684.jpg

Once you input the Caid, Sid and Biss key on both EVEN & ODD CW lines, press the Yellow button OK to save and exit....

8223234690_7844731288.jpg

On Strong 4950H receiver you get the SID code of biss coded channel in a different way.

Lets say we are looking for the SID code of IRIB VARZESH.

Select the coded channels which will be blank as it is scrambled>>>

10685153754_bfc42fbbb3.jpg

On your remote select menu and go to CHANNEL MANAGER tab and select EDIT CHANNEL>>>>

10685112175_348187668b.jpg

Select the coded channel and note down the details displayed on the right>>>>>>

10685351483_697e0144cb_z.jpg

Details required include frequency, SR (symbolic rate) and SID code.

10685352233_7f78df8af6.jpg

For IRIB VARZESH Frequency 3964 & 30000
SID code 0075

10690328546_746d1f434e_b.jpg

With the said values, Select ANTENNA SETTINGS, scroll down to the PATCH MENU

10685161296_ed909ed693.jpg

The activation patch code for Srt 4950H is F1 6969.

Enter Patch Menu and select Manuel Key>>>

10685115545_7417325ccb.jpg

Select the Biss table and press the gree button on your remote to add new biss key.

10685116525_6392277300.jpg

Select the line under Key with the 12 zero.

Eg enter 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 >>>

10685165656_4ed398d8d5.jpg

On the side of the screen you will note letters running down till OK.

Select OK to save biss key.

Next step, Press F1 to edit frequency plus SID code of the biss key you have entered>>>

10685117475_a3459ecce3.jpg

The values we had noted ealier are frequency 3964 SR 30000 and SID 0075

Enter the said values as displayed below.

Frequency SID
03964 30000 0075

10685164644_4ba662f150.jpg

Scroll down the letters on your left display and select OK>>>

10685357903_93d5ce44d2.jpg

Save, exit and enjoy your biss coded channel>>>

One of the above solutions will most likely help you get and enter the SID code values on your receiver.

Happy Hunting

Hallow Mr.Kungu 1 I fail to edit IRIB VARZESH in my AZSKY G6 receiver help me please.

A European space satellite that has
been mapping the Earth’s
gravitational field is set to crash
down to Earth in the coming days,
and it could provide a “real treat”
for space watchers.
But could GOCE (pronounced “GO-
chay”), which is set to make an
“uncontrolled entry” into the
atmosphere, present a risk to
anyone on the ground?
“For the most part, these
uncontrolled re-entries are the
norm,” Space.com’s Tariq Malik told
Yahoo News in a phone interview.
“It’s not so much that we’ve been
lucky to not get hit by one as it is
the planet is so big.”
The European Space Agency does
not know exactly when GOCE, short
for Gravity field and steady-state
Ocean Circulation Explorer, will
crash to Earth, and experts there
don't know exactly where it will
land. But the general consensus is
that it will re-enter Earth’s
atmosphere sometime between
Friday and Monday.
“It’s rather hard to predict where
the spacecraft will re-enter and
impact,” the ESA’s Rune
Floberghagen told the New York
Times. “Concretely our best
engineering prediction is now for a
re-entry on Sunday, with a
possibility for it slipping into early
Monday.”
And if all goes well, people may be
able to watch the satellite safely
enter the atmosphere and explode
into a fireball of smaller fragments.
“The one thing I’m really wondering
about is where the re-entry might
be visible from,” Malik said. “It’s
very instructive to watch this stuff
burn up. From the ground, it’s like
watching a giant fireball. If that
happens, viewers on the ground
could really get a treat.”
So far, the odds have worked out
incredibly well for people on Earth.
No known satellite has ever
impacted a person or destroyed a
significant piece of property.
However, that doesn’t mean space
junk hasn’t come close to civilization
before. In 1979, fragments from the
first U.S. space station SKYLAB
landed in Western Australia , though
no one was hurt in the impact. And
in 2004, NASA’s Genesis satellite
crashed into the desert in Utah
when its parachute failed to deploy
on re-entry. And again, even though
the impact created a crater, no
person or private property was
harmed by the impact.
And it was estimated last year that
ENVISAT, the largest satellite in
history, could pose a 150-year threat
to Earth. Having run out of fuel, no
one knows when the 17,636-pound
satellite will return to Earth and
what kind of impact it might have.
Malik says that within about 24
hours of GOCE’s re-entry observers
should have an accurate estimate of
when it will enter the atmosphere.
Then, within about 12 hours of its
re-entry, scientists will begin to
more closely predict where
fragments from the satellite will
land.
“It will start off as wide as a
continent or an ocean,” Malik said.
“By the end, nearly all of the
possible trajectory lines will have
been eliminated and they’ll have a
good idea of where it’s headed.”
But even though it’s extremely
unlikely that GOCE will pose a risk
upon re-entry, Malik still says any
would-be collectors would be wise to
leave any found debris alone.
“It’s not really wise to touch it, even
though it’s fallen down from space,”
he said. “It was powered by an
engine and you don’t know what
kind of chemicals or residue are in
there.”

When the deal is too good think twice. Never send your money to strangers in this forum unless u hve verified.

its fortunate some people do not know what has kept this forum going! Not because one has a brand new reciever he wants to sell, but the what one has discovered about fta that would add value to this forum. We know what to buy!
