African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

4.8e is what is normally reffered to as 5e just like 64.2e is reffered to as 64e. People don't like maths involving fractions and decimal points. Otherwise NASA is still loud and clear
I thought 4.8e is Astra 4a in which its beam is for Europe and Nordic countries while 5e is SES 5, the one which Zuku and Startimes air through an African beam.

At 0.2 degrees separation they might as well be just one Sat up there with different beams

By the way practically, geo stationary sats often move from their theoratical slots by a few tenths of degrees and require repositioning by their ground controllers /operators. So you could find one originally at 5e has moved to 5.1e or 4.95e. but such minute movements don't affect ground reception much

I have tried to decrypt this to no avail....
I don't want WhatsApp battalion to stone me but illI risk it for your enlightenment. ;

There were these 9 'top secret' (an african wide secret) channels on a feed on 18w..

The party was interrupted. Hopefully briefly. But that's for them to worry about.

Bloggers are having a field day reporting it. Much to the annoyance of certain entitled individuals.

😀😀😀 I hope that they'll forgive you. Thanks, my shamba though has not been expanded, it just got 7E/5E on a 90 but I am looking around for a 2nd hand PF dish.....

Lyngsat.com/astra4a@5.8e
We only get Satelio promo Germany package of Namibia but $$$,Nigbati an Oga movies channels and Mbc Malawi.

That would be a distinction without a difference
There is a difference. It is useful for newbees to know that there are actually two SATs there even though you can pick them with one lnb. At some point one of the SATs can go out of commission with its channels and newbees should know what happened.

If you're identifying sats with reference to their position in the sky, there'd be no difference. If you're identifying them by their technical aspects there'd be a difference.

Just as we once had Intelsat 7, 10 and 20 all at 68.5°E

Pwaahahaha, you guys have a sense of humour. I missed Jamiiforums.
Which reminds me; a two-week outage on a very popular site like this is really hurting. For the forumers who are IT inclined, what is the viability of having a mirror (or many) urls to this, just in case it is inaccessible!

😀😀😀 You remind me of the Moses Series
I thought I was the only one who remembered that Great lady Barbara Kimenye! What I liked most was the name of the school where Moses and King Kong went; Mukibi's Educational Institute for the Sons of African Gentlemen. Yet the bulk of the students had been expelled from three or more schools. Ahh, the good ol' days.
