Thanks Ranksat for your input on this. Regarding the cut on the feedhorn, how deep should it go? Or roughly how far apart should the 68.5 (main) and 72 (parasite) lnbs be? Please let me know once you can access your set-up. Am willing to give it a go at some point.

In Nairobi a 90cm won't yield much on Yahsat but 1.8m will get you the MENA beam around 120channels but there are some cartoons and movies and crossing fingers for Russia 2018 event on Nay. 8ft will get you goodies.from there facebook page n#y movies seem to have more recent n more intresting movies than the mbcs is it realy worth it to move to that sat for two channels
Intelsat 72 is receivable on a 6ft but only the non Multistream tp as most of our decoders aren't multistream. I will lock again on it and upload images. if you want to combine with 68 you have to cut off the scalar ring. works well on 8ft than 6ft.the last time I tried (Early March 2018) 70b this is what I got (picture). there was also ktn news & ktn, & k24 as fta.
IS 22@ 72E is ver tricky, very tricky I,ve never seen anyone here nab it. I do not think it can be a parasite on a 6ftView attachment 747227 .

Try visiting the Bamba, Signet, ADN, PANG etc social media pages to see what I mean. Pity the poor souls who manage those handles since all they seem to do everyday is apologize to their clients for the downtimes.
It would have been much easier, reliable and possibly cheaper if the government decreed that all the Kenyan channels be uploaded on a single accessible bird like that at 5E to help in the migration, rather than having each of the players attempt to put up its own infrastructure (which they have failed to do well). Indeed we have a precedent in the mobile phone BTS which presently have to co-locate. The upside to such a move would be that in one fell swoop, the entire country would be covered by the footprint, and not the present case where more than 2 years after the much touted digital migration, large swathes of the country are signal-less.
And the merchants (GOtv, Startimes et. al.) haven't fared better either. My neighbors whose were on them migrated to satellite due to signal disappearance. I have confirmed this every time I rescan my fta decoder.

I was talking of a governmental initiative to ensure total digital migration. Indeed we already have what should be a complete Kenyan mux at 72 East. yes you can. it'll also depend on the strength of your lnb. A very weak lnb will require some tweaking and compromise

And Am not dedicating my 200 dollar 8ft dish and a 20 dollar lnb to receive githeri media on 72e. not even my 10 dollar UHF aerial. On the presence of the paytv alongside FTA, it seems to be commonplace; OSN(Nilesat), Discoveries and Sonies (IS 20) .....etc, while on costs, I thinks they also pay dearly to construct, run /maintain those unreliable masts. An advert is running on 68.5 East (Ku-band) from either the satellite owners or content aggregators (probably Sentech) talking of a starting cost of about USD 6, 500 to lease the space there per month. While to an individual this may seem much, to the KTNs and CITIZENs of this world, this is a bargain considering the footprint of the bird.
