5 SIGNS YOU ARE READY FOR MARRIAGE.
Many ask, Sir at what age is one ready to get married, but it really isn't about AGE but being READY.
Here are 5 signs that tell that you are ready to get Married.
1) You have a JOB (and financial independence from your Parents) .
This is very important.
Especially for the Male folk, except God is expressly telling you to get married and you have no job, please Sir, where this isn't the case, FIND A JOB First, and a place of your own to lay your head .
2) You Have SELF CONTROL
Aside from having a job and financial security, marriage will test your self control...
You are about to live with another person 24/7.
ISSUES will arise, money issues, in-law issues, food issues, sex issues...
~It will take self control for you to keep quiet at times when an argument is escalating
~It will take self control for you to be faithful to the person you married, marriage doesn't cancel sexual temptations etc.
3) You take CORRECTIONS..
If you know honestly you have issues with being corrected and it annoys you, please don't get married just yet.. Work on that aspect first.
If you have temper issues, anger issues, issues with pride, work on yourself now.
4) You are a GIVER.
"For God so loved the World that he gave...... "
Love is giving and Marriage is about sacrifice
Till you are good at giving (not just money), you will have issues with marriage generally.
Many People want to get married because they want someone that will take care of them, pamper them, cook for them, but in reality Marriage isn't about RECEIVING but GIVING.
In marriage, you'll give your body, your money, your time, your freedom, your choices, your love etc. Marriage will test your giving capacity.
5) You have Prepared INTENTIONALLY .
If you can't point to the THINGS you have done INTENTIONALLY in preparation for Marriage, I can tell you, you are not ready for Marriage.
Marriage doesn't succeed by coincidence. You have to have been intentional for it to work.
How many marriage books have you read?
Do you have relationship/marriage mentors?
Have you looked at yourself and looked at the habits you need to change for your marriage to work and then started making adjustments.
