45th Tarehe Sita Celebrations

Today Uganda Commemorates the 45th Tarehe Sita anniversary honoring the Uganda People’s Defense Force(UPDF) for its role in maintaining national peace and sovereignty since its origins in the 1980s liberation struggle.

It commentates the 1981 attack by National Resistance Army on Kabamba Barracks sparking a five year guerilla war and marked the establishment of UPDF.

While at the celebrations, President Museveni will Unveil a FRONASA fighters monument in kabale honoring Kigezi liberation heroes who resisted aiding Amins regime

President Museveni awards Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba a medal for leading anti Al shabaab operations and commanding missions in DR Congo, South Sudan and Somalia Ahead of the Tarehe sita celebrations today.
