In Nkura 3 Village, Nyangoge Sub-location, Kisii South Sub-county, two little girls, ages four and five, were discovered dead under unknown circumstances.

Annah Bahati and Stacy Nyanchama, the victims, apparently vanished while playing together on Tuesday at around 6:00 p.m., and their lifeless bodies were found in a banana plantation close to Marble Hospital at around 10:00 p.m.

Although the precise cause of death has not yet been determined, preliminary investigations suggest the girls may have been poisoned, defiled, and slain. There is a possibility that the children may have been poisoned after being kidnapped as a container thought to contain poison was found next to the bodies.

Kisii South Deputy County Commissioner Grace Ouma and police officials from Suneka Police Station inspected the area. For a post-mortem examination, the bodies were sent to the mortuary at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.

To determine the circumstances underlying the fatalities and identify the perpetrators, police have opened investigations. The public has been asked by authorities to disclose any information they may have that could help with the investigation to the closest police station.
