18-Year-Olds Arrested in Connection with Brutal Robbery

Police in Lira City have arrested two 18-year-olds over a violent robbery that left a woman seriously injured.

The attack happened on 17 June 2026 in Starch Factory Cell, Lira City West Division, where a group of young men allegedly assaulted the victim before stealing her mobile phone and cash.

The breakthrough came after the victim identified one of the suspects, leading police to arrest Emuna Joshua (18) and Acar Gerald, also known as Jerry (18) during an intelligence led operation.

Police say investigations are still ongoing as they hunt for other suspects believed to have taken part in the robbery.
