Can anybody suggest a strong transponder to help find 7W in Nairobi. I had my 130cm dish perfectly pointed, then someone twisted it (ground mounted), I was getting CNN and BBC W clearly, but those transponders are weak and I can not seem to locate it again.

Me again, back in Nairobi. Following recommendations from several on this forum earlier this year, I got myself a ZGemma H9S and I have it now connected to NIlesat and get all the FTA channels nice and clear - very strong signal now for BBC W and CNN, unlike on my old equipment back earlier...

Sorry, can not see how to post a new topic, so this is not really about this. But, great to see that this Africa Sat discussion is still alive and well on Jamiiforums, you will see that I posted a lot up to 2014, then moved to Europe, and made only fleeting visits to Kenya. Now back for a...

Hm, thanks Kamathig for that. What can I do with my dish that is pointed towards Amos?, anything interesting in that neighborhood still?

Hi all, I have been away from this forum for a year. Can abnyoune be kind enough to point me to the most significant updates in the scene in last 12 months?, is Nilesat still best bird for all round family FTA?, I have two 120 vpcm dishes, one on Nikesat, one in Amos5, but could alter.

Thanks a lot for that update on AD Sports, Kungu, I have a subscription and an AD Sports decoder, found that Sky HD had disappeared, and was going to adjust my dish, nobody apart from you informed me of the changes! One question for you, are all of the OSN frequencies to get the AD SPorts $11...

Great discussion. I tend to agree with FTA Nash that it may well be difficult to get good results with an HH motor living on the equator, as in Nairobi. I have installed an HH motor in Europe, very easy, works very well once properly aligned, and yes, it is great and you can get lots of sats...

I do not think the Nairobi agent for Eurostar actually exists. I tried to get in contact last year, but failed, phone number never answers etc. I sent an email to Eurostar HQ in Dubai asking them about Nairobi agent, they replied, but did not answer my question or tell me how to get in touch...

But it surely would not have been FTA? how would they have made their money? And why did they keep this a closely guarded secret, until now when they are 'on the ropes'. The Kenya Press is also handling all of this very badly, few of the reporters have any idea what they are talking about...

Here is a photo of my setup for getting sats at 7 west and 7 east, might help give some on this forum an idea of elevation angles. dishes pointing almost due west of course, towards setting sun, in Nairobi,

Are you sure you are locked on to the 7E satellite? Once you are there, the Zambia Channels are strong, on a frequency of 12520/H/ 27500, there are two on that transponder, Africa Unite and Muvi TV, in Nairobi I am getting them on a 90cm dish with a Signal strength of 80% and a quality of...
