Rais Emmerson Mnangagwa mnamo Jumatatu, tarehe 10 Februari 2026, aliongoza kikao cha kwanza cha Baraza la Mawaziri kwa mwaka huu, ambapo mawaziri waliidhinisha Muswada wa Marekebisho ya Katiba Na. 3 wa mwaka 2026, uliowasilishwa na Waziri wa Sheria, Ziyambi Ziyambi.

Muswada huo unapendekeza kuongeza muda wa uongozi wa Rais na Bunge kutoka miaka mitano hadi miaka saba. Serikali imesema hatua hiyo itapunguza mara kwa mara kufanyika kwa uchaguzi, kuimarisha mwendelezo wa sera, na kusaidia maendeleo ya muda mrefu ya taifa.

The Bill proposes extending the term of office for the President and Parliament from five years to seven years. Government says the move will reduce frequent elections, improve policy continuity, and support long-term national development.

The Bill will now be taken to Parliament for debate.

Mkiweza kukubaliana huko ndani ya CCM mnaweza kufanya hivyo, hakuna wa kuwazuia, bunge ni la chama kimoja na liko kama rubber stamp ya CCM tu. Unapoingiza Tanzania nzima ndipo unakosea, labda urejee tu October 29 kama somo la jinsi gani mama yenu hakubaliki na majority.
