Will CNN's Piers Morgan be deported from US?

LONDONTens of thousands of people have signed a petition calling for British CNN host Piers Morgan to be deported from the U.S. over his gun control views.Morgan has taken an aggressive stand for tighter U.S. gun laws in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut, school shooting. Last week, he called a gun advocate appearing on his "Piers Morgan Tonight" show an "unbelievably stupid man."
Now, gun rights activists are fighting back. A petition created Dec. 21 on the White House e-petition website by a user in Texas accuses Morgan of engaging in a "hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution" by targeting the Second Amendment. It demands he be deported immediately for "exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens."
The petition has already hit the 25,000 signature threshold to get a White House response. By Monday, it had 31,813 signatures.
Morgan seemed unfazedand even amusedby the movement.
In a series of Twitter messages, he alternately urged his followers to sign the petition and in response to one article about the petition said "bring it on" as he appeared to track the petition's progress.
"If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?" he wrote.

According to USA constitution " you have a right to bear arms"ukifika 18 apply for license na uwe na bunduki.

Ah wapi. He can't be deported. The First Amendment protects him.

The right to freedom of speech allows individuals to express themselves without interference or constraint by the government.

I think this petition is a great thing just for the contrast that the discussion is highlighting.

Isn't it wonderfully ironic that some people demand that his First Amendment rights be trampled when he demands that other people's Second Amendment rights be trampled?

I don't think anyone seriously thinks he would be deported. But it does point out the ridiculousness of not only both sides of the debate....but also the middle as well.

Side 1: Piers has a First Amendment right to his opinion, but we should ban guns in violation of the Second Amendment.

Side 2: We have a Second Amendment right to our guns, and we should deport him for his opinion even in violation of the First Amendment.

Middle: The Second Amendment isn't absolute and we should accept reasonable limitations....like banning assault weapons. Also, the First Amendment isn't absolute and we should accept reasonable limitations...like deporting foreigners on work visas who advocate unconstitutional actions.

I think the petition makes for one of the best "Theater of the Absurd" comedies this year.

A statement from CNN said although she would still be working with the news corporation from time to time, Makgabo would primarily work as an independent journalist and producer on a number of different projects.

In a statement explaining her departure, Makgabo said although the decision was not an easy one, she and her family felt it was important for them "to come back home and contribute to the country that has given them so much".

"We felt the time was right for us. I have learnt so much in the (five) years that I have been with CNN, and I am looking forward to sharing that (experience) back home," she said.
