According to Robert Wright, these reasons why some women cheat;

1. Resource extraction- getting things from multiple partners increases resource security.

2. Dilemma of off springs- Mating with multiple partners leaves each male with the impression that he might be the father of a particular off spring. There's scientific correlation between male's kindness to kids and chances he might be their father.

3. Good genes- Some studies show that women are likely to cheat on their husband during ovulation, suggesting, that they target certain genes instead of resources.

The reasons are manifold. They just can't be pinned down to only three.

Am Afraid Mr Wright is wrong or he might have been high by the time he came up with this, or he meant girlfriend cheating on his boyfriend and not wife cheating on husband..., let me breakdown why his arguments does not make sense nor logic.

Here the Keyword is Cheat
Wife cheating on husband does not increase resource security rather it decrease the security, because the wife might end up on his backside with no one wanting her when she gets caught

In case of a wife seeking a suitor for kids, its only the husband who is the father, apart from that she will be branded a hooker and no one will want her or the kids (and we are at the age of DNA testing) therefore this point is null and void

During ovulation its true that a women will be more wanting but not because of genes or whatnot, but because its when she is fertile.
