Why Rwanda is set to become the next Singapore

Why Rwanda is set to become the next Singapore

You're all out like a pack of wolves after smell of blood.
We've dispute with Uganda over Migingo island, but one thing for sure, you can't hear us drumming up for war the way Tanzanians are. We have involved professionals to handle the issue and more diplomatically while the two countries are engaging in business amicably.
Tanzanians, you are always provocative and you keep on citing Kagera war as your point of reference. Yet it's a known fact how this war devastated you to the core. You went all out, involved everything and everyone, JWTZ, police, militants, villagers etc and not to mention even Ugandans played a major role by fighting as rebels from various points. This war ravaged your economy to the point that even rats in villages felt it. And for years, you were unable to recover until Uganda had to pay you.
Now you're at it again, drumming up for war against Malawi and Rwanda, something lies to you things will be the same over and over. This time, a war with Rwanda will see you plummet to the floor. Back in the days of Kagera war, Tanzanians were patriotic and it was easy for Nyerere to rally them. But the image is far different now, statistics shows you're corrupt far worse than any other EAC country, and in such state, you can't stand a decisive war between countries. Your elites have amassed billions in foreign banks and would not be ready to fight for anyone.

It's high time you tone down on your ego and focus on development.

no country can beat Tanzania within the EAC get that fact! be KDF, UPDF, MDF or RDF! TPDF is a complete proven army make no mistake on that! Both UPDF and RDF have been trained by TPDF and right now we are training DRC and Somalian forces ask RDF what happened to them when they tried to fight behind M23! Mind u TPDF mission was to pursue them M23 directly on front line unlike SADF or MDF.

War with M23 is another lie you always like to brag about. M23 was just a rag-tag militias full of children, you went after them a combined force of TPDF, Malawians, South Africans and Congolese. Not to mention, Congolese soldiers were all out since this was their war.
Kagame was arm-twisted by UN not to help those kids, otherwise would have been a long drawn war.

Rwanda's economy to grow by 6%

KIGALI, Rwanda - Rwanda's economy is expected to grow by 6% in 2014 compared to 4.6% in 2013.

Analysts here said this is mainly because of the expected good performance of the agriculture sector.

Leonard Rugwabiza, the Chief Economist of Rwanda was speaking last week while presenting the macro-economic performance of the country during the quarterly meeting of representatives of development partners.

It was the 55th Development Partners Coordination Group (DPCG) meeting aimed at reviewing the progress of government's development objectives and again discussing the way forward.

"We expect a recovery of the service sector growth by 7% in 2014 compared to 4% in 2013 and the industry sector is projected to grow to 6% which is quite lower than growth achieved in 2013 which was at 11% and came in as a result of reduced construction activities and this will all contribute to the target the country has," Rugwabiza said.

During the same meeting, representatives of Development Partners were briefed on the medium term economic performance and growth projections, progress on the implementation of the EDPRS 2 as well as the National Employment Plan.

The industry sector is however expected to pick up again rising to 9% and the agriculture sector is expected to stabilize at 5% and service sector at 7% which will see an increase in GDP growth to 6.7% in 2015.

Rugwabiza said fiscal consolidation through increased domestic revenue mobilization and expenditure prioritization to close the fiscal gap remain the key objectives of the Government's medium term fiscal strategy.

"Expenditure side will focus mainly on achieving EDPRS2 objectives with a plan to allocate a higher proportion of expenditure to development projects relative to current expenditures," Rugwabiza said.

He said government will continue to monitor any risk related to budget implementation.

The total budgeted resources for the 2014/15 fiscal year will increase by Rwf76 billion (about $110 million) rising to Rwf1753 billion a 30.3% of GDP compared to the revised budget of Rwf1677 billion a 32.8% of GDP.

Total revenue and grants are projected at Rwf1531 billion, compared to Rwf1332.5 billion in the revised 2013/14 budget.

hahaha, when only FOUR alshabab took over westgate what did your KDF do? They showed up with the expected pomp, complete with TANKS! yes the geniuses showed up with TANKS! what for only God knows, any way they proceeded to shoot fellow kenyan law enforcement, they broke into shops, they looted shops, even tried to pry open ATMs, they drank (or rather stole drinks from the establishments there), and to cover their asses burned (or did they bomb) the mall? at the end, they produced no proof of any of the FOUR terrorists being dead!
And you compare these guys with the mighty TPDF? with our record? dude please! There is a good reason why M23 only focused their propaganda on TZ alone.

Congrats Rwandans keep on struggling as you strive to prosper ultimately Democracy gonna open its doors. To me Kagame is embracing Development which will pay dividends on his leadership. Bongos we must stop Childish envy to our neighbors lets face realities we are damn backward for reasons best known by Ruling Party.
Husilete ngoma ambazo hujui kuzicheza. Kama wewe ni mbongo, kagame kamwambia rais wako ata mu hit. Ina maana hata wewe umeamiwa utapugwa. Paka is completely out of Tanzanian Ideology of reconciliation....

The story is about to change. Tanzania is growing at the highest rate in East Africa main (kenya uganda and tz) and it is only a matter of time before we have Kenya for breakfast, economically speaking. I can't wait to see what good our gas is going to do to our economy.....

Rwanda will be next CrImea under Uganda talking to be next Singapore is totally impossible with such dictatorship style of government, we have to remember Singapore is one of democratic government in world got where it is through science and technology not through the barrel of the gun. If Rwanda is set to be next Singapore then Tanzania is set to be next USA
You don't know what you are talking about. Yes, Singapore made lightening progress, but it was under the tight-fist, no-nonsense rule of Lee Kwan Yew (hope I have got the name right) who stayed in power for more than 30 years. More or less the Kagame style. Sometimes I think Tz needs a man (or woman?) of that mettle. What is the point of changing a face every five years (without changing the system) and without changing the social/economic context of the nation?

I am currently in Kigali Rwanda, working on a contract for the Rwanda Development Board and currently based at telecom house, while Tanzania talks, these people are honestly making major and strategic steps in development issues. Ive been based in Tanzania for years and to be honest no major strategic development is happening. you folks just talk, while in the real sense of things you have nothing to be proud of. Rwanda is going places, give it time.

How did Lee come to power? did he invade singapore and overturned the country after waging war against innocent civilians for 4 years? did he also went on to invade a neighbouring country under pretext of going against "genocidaires" while looting its resources? did he have political opposition members beheaded, right before elections? and others shot, dissappear or run into exile? did singaporean journalists get shot too? did singapore's embassies also serve as assasination co-ordinating centers abroad?.....please, kagame and lee kwan are day and night!
