Okumu Okwede
Zitto Kabwe’s havoc began long way back. His attitude to force transformation through dishonest backing endures.
Reports in Tanzania confirm that this young politician had the same attitude in the University of Dar es Salaam between 1999-2003, during his time in the opposition party (Chadema) before 2015 and now through ACT-Wazalendo.
Zitto’s dishonest behavior leads him to acquire amount of funds from foreigners for personal gain.
Earlier, Zitto had made a loyalty statement to Chadema but recent social media outlet in Tanzania exposes him as a “walk–in-agent” for some foreign envoys based in East Africa. Zitto is accused on wary affiliation with the recalled European Union envoy, Roeland van de Geer. Independently, Zitto sends outrageous reports to foreigners seeking foreign embassies to cut aid scheme against Tanzania government on the basis of human rights, democracy issues and now homosexuality agenda.
The statements by the Tanzanian government president Dr. John Pombe Magufuli and foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Augustine Mahiga hold Tanzania as safe and respectable country that sustains diplomatic relations. Both statements encourage foreign diplomats to enjoy their representation and Tanzania government adheres to the international laws governing diplomatic relations including the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and other international treaties.
Some political analysts perceive the lately Zitto’s feat to seek foreign diplomatic statements against Tanzania, as a mayhem. In the past, Zitto accused the European Union and other Western multinationals on tax evasion and structured colonization towards developing countries. On the face of it, some strategic legates see him now as growing double-agent who might risk numerous envoys deployed to East African countries when not handled with care.
A retired foreign diplomat in Tanzania’s neighbouhood has commented that “We have been in this kind of disarray before where some of our men betray our nation. The current Zitto’s agenda against Tanzania appears to underscore the pertinent
responsibility Zitto has under two-pronged bargain with specific foreign aiders to warrant political instability in Tanzania.
May be corruption zero tolerance in Tanzania has affected Zitto” said Mouhin Hamad. Adding, “The man benefited from different angles of economic earnings such as the parliamentary committee, the mining sectors, unclear meeting allowances and gas”.
A political analyst in Dar es Salaam also commented that, “When ZITTO left Chadema,he made accusations against Freeman Mbowe, a party chairman. Good enough, the Chadema leadership has not made a point of responding to some of the issues raised by Zitto, knowing he is a man who just fueling conflict in society by arguing issues of accountability, transparency, human rights and democracy. The same today, he argues against His Excellency President Magufuli, the current African president role model.
Whatever depravities Zitto commits against Tanzania government now, will come back to foreign diplomats who use Zitto as their legitimate eavesdropping gadget.” The greatest Chinese leader and the founder of the Peoples Republic of China,
Chairman Mao Tse Tung once said: “There are better ways of treating an erring comrade…you don’t treat a comrade like an enemy.”
It is worthy to carefully observe Zitto, when he echoes his political agenda through foreign diplomats. His statement may cause diplomatic tensions among countries and this is why foreign diplomats must handle Zitto Kabwe with care.
