A 32-year-old woman, married for six years, is seeking opinions over her husband’s insistence on sharing almost everything with her, including personal items such as her toothbrush and towel.
She says she has bought him several toothbrushes, but he rarely uses them. Instead, he looks for hers, even when she hides it in her handbag or drawer, leaving his own untouched. She says the same happens with towels.
When she complains, her husband reportedly laughs and reminds her that they are married and should not have a “mine and yours” mentality.
She says she has explained that it is not about loving him less, but simply wanting some personal boundaries. However, he considers her concerns unnecessary.
She now wants to know: Is she being unreasonable, or should married couples be allowed to have some personal things they do not share?
