What the fuss with Bagamoyo? Na mimi nikianza kudai ninakotoka kuwe na vitega uchumi vitakavyojengwa na serikali,tutafika? Kama nilivyoeleza hapo awali,Bagamoyo,Kibaha,Kisarawe na Dar es Salaam ziliunda mkoa wa Pwani,so walichangia vitega uchumi kimkoa. Ivyo kuuliza 'especially Bagamoyo' kunakua redundant. Watu wa Pwani ni wavivu ukatakae ukubali. Husidandie hoja moja ya kucheza ngoma,na kamwe husiwafananishe watu wa pwani na wamasai au wahadzabe. Wapo tofauti sana. The later ni wachapakazi waliokua ivyo kutokana na harsh environment wanayoishi. The former ni wavivu wa kukaa kwny bao au genge!

I just doesnt want to read all of this bla bla here all i can say is that I agree and i think i need this airport to be done tommorow i cant wait to fly to bagamoyo , its so shame that we have few international airports in Tanzania ,so i agree that we need one in Bagamoyo a soon as possible Kikwete , thank you , i dont care how much it cost if the goverment can afford why not !!!

I dont have time to read all this you have written here but i support the idea that we need this airport in Bagamoyo , yes we do !!! who doesnt want?? i want this airport to be done very soon i cant wait!!!im actually studying Business Toaurism and Hotel Management so as far as my field is concern i understand much that there is quite high demand of this airport in Bagamoyo , those who are making a little opposition here they are seeing future in different ways ,some one down has mentioned the tourists pass through Nairob or whatever and this is what i hate , this is the reason if you ask many European will tell you that Kilimanjaro is in Kenya and not in Tanzania , this is the time we should be awake to develop and promote our own resources for our future generation, its not bla bla time we are even late dont you see, i think we dont even have a minutes here we are just wasting more time , my bus is even late let me go , Kikwete please we need this airport in Bagamoyo,

Nasikia wajerumani waligundua kuwa watu wa pwani(wazaramo)ni wavivu sana kwwa hiyo wakawachukua watu wa bara,wabara walipozaa na wa pwani watoto wakawa active.kwa hiyo ndo maana mpaka leo wasukuma wanawatania wazaramo,wazaramo si watu ila wakichanganywa na wasukuma watoto wao wanakuwa watu.

$300m Bagamoyo Economic Zone to take off 2013

Phase one construction of the $300million (Sh480 billion) Bagamoyo Special Economic Zone is scheduled to start in January 2013, the Guardian has learnt.

The project is part of the government’s long-term strategy to promote economic zones, billed instrumental in stimulating economic growth. It would also address critical challenges of abject poverty, rampant unemployment, food price inflation, and overhead inflation generally.

The Director for Development at Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA), Zawadia Nanyaro told the Guardian on Thursday this week that the government had already invited potential investors to invest in the multibillion shillings project.

The EPZA, a government agency overseeing investments in export and special economic-zones, is quite optimistic that the project would have a significant impact on the country’s economy.

“There is no doubt that the Bagamoyo special economic zone will benefit our country, in terms of job creation, enhanced investments, business and other economic sectors,” Nanyaro said.

She told The Guardian in an interview on the sidelines of the official programmes to mark five years of the founding of an international audit and accounting firm, RSM.

The EPZA director added that the the Bagamoyo project would cost $150 million(Sh240 billion) to implement its first phase.
“The second phase of construction works would cost nearly the same amount (USD 150million)…but these are just rough estimates, actual figures will be known later on,” said Nanyaro, lead guest at the RSM event.

The Bagamoyo special economic zone would also be an integrated project -- linked with Mbegani port, a potential transport development in Coast Region, she said.

“Besides, Bagamoyo would mix up processing zones—industrial and commercial components, thus allowing a broad range of businesses, investments and related operations in the compound,” she said.

She explained that the project would be implemented as a public-private partnership (PPP) initiative, urging potential local and foreign investors to come in and cast their lots in the project.

“We want investors to come forward and exploit these investment opportunities, invest in the construction of necessary infrastructures and establishment of industries,” Nanyaro said.
Addressing fellow guests, Nanyaro said RSM was an exemplary private company which had demonstrated high-level professionalism, expertise and competence in its operations.

“RSM has shown direction to both foreign and local firms,” she said, noting that it usually deploys competent professionals to audit books of accounts of private and public firms. “This testifies to the company’s commitment to abide by government regulations and rules,” she stated.

Ashif Kassam, the CEO of RSM, hailed the country’s improved business and investment environment, noting however that more efforts were needed to push the country’s economy to the “next and more improved stage.”

Red tape in public service delivery, prolonged business registration procedures, unstructured legal and regulatory frameworks, stand as critical hurdles to the development of business and investment sectors in Tanzania. “This must be addressed using appropriate approaches,” he told the gathering.

At the same event, the RSM management conferred the company’s workers and clients with trophies, certificates and other prizes in recognition of their contributions towards the lifting of the company’s profile in the face of a vibrant and fast-growing audit and accounting sub-sector in the local market.

Tunashangaa airport na bandari mpya pia wanataka kujenga Bagamoyo wakati tuna bandari mbili Tanga na Mtwara ambazo hazitumiki tu capacity. Sababu ya Kujenga ni kujikomba kwa mkuu wa Nchi.
