His name is Mohammed.

What kind of life could have inspired the nearly one and a half billion people who currently follow his teachings?? Pitia mkeka sasa.

Mohammed was born in A.D 570 in Mecca, which is part of preset day Saudi Arabia. For two years he was nursed by a Bedouin woman named Halima.

At the age of two, Mohammed’s mother, Amina was so impressed with the child’s healthy appearance that she asked Halima to take Mohammed back to the desert for another two years.

At age four, Amina was much less impressed with the health of her son. He suffered from what may have been epileptic fits, which caused Halima to think that Mohammed was demon possessed.

Mohammed, now five, went back to live with his mother. When Amina died, Mohammed’s grandfather raised him for the next two years until he died at eighty.

At age twelve, Mohammed was moved to the home of a wealthy uncle(wakishua), who in turn passed Mohammed on to a poor uncle. As was normal for Arabian youth, he cared for sheep and goat in the hills and valleys surrounding Mecca.

That’s a little glimpse about Mohammed though there’s much to say,,,,,

  • How he brought up Islam
  • His marriages
  • The flee from Mecca to Medina, and so on and so forth.
