It was on the eve of 13th Jamaad ul awwal, 1384, corresponding to 19th September, 1964, when a member of the Revolution Council walked into Hussainiya Taziya Khana in Zanzibar and started shooting indiscriminately.
This resulted in several people being martyred and others injured.
