The Uganda National Examinations Board has extended the registration deadline for the 2026 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations to June 30.
The announcement was made by UNEB Executive Secretary Daniel Odongo, who said the extension is intended to accommodate newly accredited examination centres and ensure that all eligible candidates are registered in time for the national examinations.
UNEB also announced that late registration will be permitted until July 31, although candidates and schools registering during this period will face penalties. According to the board, late registration for PLE candidates will attract a 100 percent surcharge, while UCE and UACE candidates will pay a 50 percent surcharge.
The examinations body emphasized that no registration will be accepted after July 31 under any circumstances.
UNEB has further urged examination centres to complete registration early to avoid last-minute technical challenges and congestion on the registration system as deadlines approach.
