Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) have released the new Skilled Occupations List (SOL) for 2016-17.

This list will come into effect from 1st July, 2016.

The Skilled Occupations List is used for 189 (Skilled Independent Visa), 489 (Skilled Regional Provisional Visa) and 485 (Graduate Temporary Visa) visa applications.

The DIBP have also released the Consolidated Sponsored Occupations List (CSOL) which is used for 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa), 457 (Temporary Work Skilled Visa) and 186 (Employer Nominated Scheme) visa applications.

Kwa ufupi, hizo ni orodha ya skills ambazo serikali ya Australia inatangaza kila July 1 kila mwaka. Hizi ni nafasi kwa watu wote kwa jinsi walivyospecify (Column C) skills nyingi ni kwa nchi zote. Watu wa Asia na kwa Afrika watu wa west Africa huchangamkia sana hizi nafasi, Kenya wanaaply sana hizi nafasi hasa nimeshuhudia wahasibu kwa visa ya 457.

Skills nyingi wanataka uwe at least na miaka 2 ya uzoefu baada ya kugraduate, so kwa kuanzia tu jaribu kuongea na agents wa migration aliyeko nchini kwako. Kwa Tanzania ongea na hawa jamaa wa Contact Global ili wakusaidie professionally katika kuunganisha na agents walioko Australia. Epuka story za inbox, ni vizuri ukaenda kwenye reliable people kuepuka utapeli.

• Age - you must be under 50 when you apply;
• English language - you should have sufficient ability in the English language to work in Australia (at least at a competent level);
• Nominated occupation - when you apply you nominate a skilled occupation, which fits your skills and qualifications. Your nominated occupation must be found on the Skilled Occupations List;
• Skills assessment - before you apply, you must have your skills assessed by the Australian assessing authority designated to assess your nominated occupation (which will usually have specific qualifications requirements);
• Health assessment - you should be of reasonably good health and all applicants must have their health assessed by a panel doctor and undergo a medical examination; and
• Character assessment - you should be of good character and this too will be assessed.
