Kadri dunia inavozidi kwenda ndo jinsi technology inavozidi kukua. Sikuhizi the most popular mode of payment duniani ni cashless. Yani mtu mnafanya biashara bila kupeana ela mkononi. Na a popular form ya kuaccept payments ni kwa kutumia a payment processor. Hii ni very helpful kama unafanya biashara na watu outside of Tanzania.
Kuna many payment processors, ila most of them either hazi-accept nchi kama Tanzania au hata kama ukiweza kufungua ana account with them, ni ngumu kureceive payments au usability yake ni very clunky.
One of the most popular payment processor ni Paypal, sema ndo hivo you can only send payments ila kwa Tz huwezi kureceive payments. Ingawa a lot of people wameraise this issue to both Paypal and the government ila, nothing seems to be done so far.
Another great payment processor ni Stripe, this has been touted as one of the easiest payment processors to work with. Sema issue yao ni kwamba hawa-accept any users anaetokea from an African country so far, which is unfortunate. Ila wana a service inayoitwa Stripe Atlas (Stripe Atlas: The best way to start an internet business) ambapo mtu unalipa USD 500, na wanakufungulia kampuni ya kimarekani, bank account ya marekani, unapata na Tax Id ya marekani. Hapo sasa ndo utaweza kutumia hiyo platform ya Stripe.
Sasa kulingana na hiyo gap in the market, kumeibuka na alot of payment processors ambazo zinajitahidi to cater to the African market.
Nitazitaja chache tu.
Nigeria wana Paystack (Paystack - Accept Payments Online ).Naweza nikasema hii, inafanana na Stripe in terms of usability na ease of use.Shida ni kwamba wana-accept only Nigerian users at the moment.
Tukija Kenya, payment processors zipo nyingi, kuna Pesapal, Lipisha, KopoKopo, JamboPay n.k
Most of these wana-accept Tz users.
Hapo ndo inabidi u-search for other options ambapo am guessing ni kutumia hizo Kenyan companies or something else.
Sasa the question is, kwanini na sisi Tz hatuna our own homegrown company ambayo itawawezesha watanzania ku accept payments za aina mbalimbali online, whether ni mobile money au credit cards?
Je shida ni willingness ya developers, the complexity of the project, au regulation ndo inasumbua?
Kama ni willingness ya developers, inamaana nini ndo kikwazo, je out of all Tz developers hamna mtu/watu ambao wako motivated enough kujaribu hiki kitu?
Kama ni complexity of the project, mbona wengine wameweza, kwanini sisi tushindwe?
Kama ni issue ya regulation, nini unadhani kifanyike ili kusaidia project kama hii ili iweze ku takeoff?
