The Argentinian is much in demand after a superb season in Serie A. According to the Palermo president, Maurizio Zamparini, Chelsea have already had an offer knocked back – 'If someone wants to buy Pastore, the price is £44m.'

Cesc Fábregas – Attacking midfielder, Arsenal

Age 24

Price £50m

Barcelona's interest in Arsène Wenger's captain is no secret and they tried to sign him last summer, but were eventually unwilling to meet the midfielder's asking price.

Neymar – Striker, Santos

Age 19

Price £30m

The latest big talent to emerge in South America, the young striker wowed English crowds in March with a virtuoso display in Brazil's 2-0 friendly win over Scotland at the Emirates Stadium. Chelsea and Real Madrid are known to be strong admirers of Neymar.

Radamel Falcao – Striker, FC Porto

Age 25

Price £26m

The Colombian striker helped fire Porto to the treble last season and his prolific goalscoring record saw him hit the net a record 17 times in the Europa League. The 25-year-old forward is rumoured to be wanted by both Arsenal and Tottenham, with a bid in the region of £26m on the horizon.

Carlos Tevez – Striker, Manchester City

Age 26

Price £40m

Although Manchester City won the FA Cup and qualified for the Champions League last season, doubts remain over the future of their best player. Tevez has had a frosty relationship with his manager, Roberto Mancini, at times and wishes to be closer to his family in Argentina. A move to Italy or Spain could be on the cards.

Eden Hazard – Attacking midfielder/Winger, Lille

Age 20

Price £20m

The Belgian won the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award as he helped his club win the title for the first time in 57 years. Recent reports have suggested he may be willing to stay in northern France, but after some sublime performances this season coupled with 12 goals in all competitions, Europe's elite will be loitering with intent.

Mario Gotze – Midfielder, Borussia Dortmund

Price £15m

Manchester United are keen to improve their creative options in midfield and the young German, who starred for Borussia Dortmund as they won the Bundesliga last season, may be the perfect fit given the club's policy on bringing in players for the future rather than established names.

Marko Marin – Winger, Werder Bremen

Age 22

Price £15m

Nicknamed 'the German Messi', Marin is believed to be attracting interest from the Premier League, particularly from Arsenal and Manchester United. Mesut Ozil left Werder Bremen last summer; Marin could be the next out of the door.

Didier Drogba – Striker, Chelsea

Price £10m

Given that he is the wrong side of 30 and Chelsea appear intent on making Fernando Torres the focal point of their attack next season, the Ivorian's time at Stamford Bridge could be up. Harry Redknapp is said to be interested.

Wesley Sneijder – Attacking midfielder, Inter

Age 26

Price £30m

Sir Alex Ferguson is a long-time admirer of Sneijder and will be hoping Inter's star playmaker can replace the void left by Paul Scholes. The 26-year-old Dutch international was an inspirational figure when Inter won the quadruple, including the Champions League in the 2009-10 season and also helped Holland reach the 2010 World Cup final.

Kaká – Attacking midfielder, Real Madrid

Age 29

Price £50m

Kaká has endured a frustrating season at the Bernabéu after signing from Milan for £56m in 2009. He has found himself behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil in the pecking order under José Mourinho after an injury-hit season. The Brazilian has said he wants to stay with Real, despite continued interest from Milan, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Moussa Sow – Striker, Lille

Age 25

Price £20m

While Gervinho and Eden Hazard have taken many of the plaudits at Lille this season, the Senegalese striker has sprung to the top of several summer shopping lists after topping the scoring charts in Ligue 1 with 25 goals.

Fábio Coentrão – Left-back, Benfica

Age 23

Price £26m

The attack-minded full-back has 12 caps for Portugal and looked promising in Benfica's run to the Europa League semi-finals. Club president Luis Filipe Vieira has warned potential suitors that Coentrão will not leave for anything less than £26m.

Jack Rodwell – Midfielder, Everton

Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly been a long-term admirer but David Moyes will not let the youngster go without a fight.

Age 24

Price £25m

The 24-year-old was Villarreal's top scorer in La Liga last season and was reportedly a target for Tottenham in January's transfer window. But the Champions League quarter-finalists may struggle to land the former Manchester United striker now that he has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona, who may offer Bojan Krkic in return.

Michel Bastos – Left-back, Lyon

Age 27

Price £15m

The Brazil full-back has spent the past five years in Ligue 1 and could be persuaded to head to pastures new. Italy and Juventus seem the likeliest destination, but Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with a move.

Karim Benzema – Striker, Real Madrid

Age 23

Price £22m

French international Benzema joined Real Madrid in 2009 after the club paid Lyon in the region of £35m for him. At the time Manchester United had also shown a keen interest in bringing the striker to Old Trafford, although Benzema ultimately chose to move to the Spanish capital. He has been in good form for Real under José Mourinho, although he was left frustrated at being left out of the starting line-up in the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.

Marek Hamsik – Attacking midfielder, Napoli

Age 23

Price £26m

Napoli midfielder Hamsik has attracted a lot of attention since helping his side earn a Champions League spot for finishing third in Serie A. The Slovakian playmaker, who is the captain of his national side, is reportedly a transfer target for Milan and Manchester United.

Franck Ribéry – Winger, Bayern Munich

Age 28

Price £40m

Bayern Munich's talisman endured a difficult season in Germany, which culminated in a trophyless year for the 2010 Champions League finalists. The former Marseille star may look for a fresh challenge this summer, with Juventus eyeing up the France international. However, his contract at Bayern is not due to expire until 2015.
