The next King of Tooro Kingdom will emerge through the kingdom’s established norms, values and traditions and not through a vote, Musuuga Charles Kamurasi has said, ruling out any electoral process in determining royal succession.

“We will get a King. Tooro will get a new King in accordance with the Kingdom’s established norms, values and traditions, not through vote. We will not vote for a new King, no,” Kamurasi said.

The remarks come days after reports emerged that the 21-member Royal Succession Committee, which Kamurasi chairs, had settled on Prince George Desmond Kamurasi as the preferred successor to the late King Oyo following a meeting at Fort Motel in Fort Portal City on September 4.(Chimp reports)
