The Tooro community has launched a UGX 500 million Musuuga Tooro Appreciation Fund to purchase a vehicle for Chief Prince Omusuuga Charles Kayondo Kamurasi, head of the Babiito Royal Clan, and support cultural initiatives.
Target: UGX 500 million
Purpose: Vehicle for the Omusuuga and wider cultural support
Fund: Musuuga Tooro Appreciation Fund
The fundraising drive recognises the Omusuuga’s contribution to the Tooro Kingdom, including but not limited to his longstanding role in guiding and supporting King Oyo from the age of three, as well as his role in the royal institution and the transition to the reign of the new Omukama, King Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I.
The initiative recognises the Omusuuga’s longstanding role in guiding and supporting King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, whom he helped guide from the age of three.
The fundraising drive runs alongside a separate UGX 925 million campaign by the Tooro Kingdom to finance the upcoming coronation on September 29.
