Police in Luuka District are investigating the killing of three people, including a two-year-old child, whose house was later set ablaze.
The incident happened on the night of Friday, September 11, 2026, in Kimanto A Village, Budondo Parish.
The victims were identified as Denis Charles Isabirye, 35, a boda boda rider; Nakasango alias Shamillah Kanmpi, 26; and Shamillah’s two-year-old son.
Police said the victims were allegedly hacked inside their home before the house was set on fire. Their bodies were discovered the following morning.
A preliminary examination found multiple cut wounds on the bodies, while a motorcycle belonging to one of the victims was missing.
Busoga North Regional Police spokesperson SP Samson Lubega said investigators have recorded witness statements and are pursuing several leads to establish the motive and identify those responsible.
Police have appealed to residents to share information about suspicious activity in the area and help trace the missing motorcycle.
