Today, Uganda held its first-ever mandatory National Cleaning Day, marking the launch of a nationwide monthly community cleaning exercise to be observed on the last Saturday of every month.

Under the new directive, the movement of private vehicles and boda bodas is prohibited, while non-essential businesses remain closed between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Citizens across the country are expected to spend the three-hour period cleaning homes, workplaces, roads, markets, drainage channels, and other public spaces.
